The entire country thrown into mourning more especially Kwara state over the death of former star goalkeeper Abdusalam Musa.


Musa as he popularly called, according to Alhaji Wasiu Okoro Lawal who is a member of the Kwara Football Association was said to have complained of headache on Friday evening, January 19, but died after he was rushed to the hospital.

Abdusalam Musa was born on March 13, 1979, and started his football career in his home town in Offa, Kwara state, Nigeria.


Musa began his football career at Offa United football club, and it was his superb performances then that paved ways for him at defunct Okin Biscuit FC

He later left Okin Biscuit FC for Eko United where he got an injury and was sidelined for almost two years.

After recuperating from a career threatening injury, Musa could no longer continue his football career and decided to turn into coaching.


He started his coaching career with Avalon FC of Offa in Kwara state in 2014 before the name of the club was changed to Offa FC in 2017.

The club are on the verge of securing promotion to the Nigeria Natioanal League (NNL) before the untimely death of their coach Abdulsalam Musa.

''He complained of headache, and when they took him to the hospital, he died not up to one hour,'' Wasiu Lawal told NAIJ.com.

Musa has been interred according to Islamic rites in Offa, Kwara state and he is survived by his wife and a son.
