“However, when herders arrive, individuals who want to play a part in place will pay a small fee. So, they will pay. They are quite willing to pay.”

I still don't get what Ogbe meany by saying the herders will pay a small fee. Are they the owners of the cows ni??
Why must we use our resources to fund their business?

My people, see all these things have been planned. This is another attempt by the North to loot the commonwealth of the south and at divert resources earned from the south to the North? What is government business with cattle colonies?

Southerners wake up, we are too daft. North is raping the south with reckless abandon and we're not seeing it.
How are they raping the south?. Whereas southerners even consume more cow meat than the north. Most of the cattles down here are owned by southners. Common sense will tell you that the herdsmen escorting the cattles are not even the direct owners. It's unfortunate that we are so blinded with ethnic, political and religious differences in this country.

Dear friends, there's a very important piece of history I'll like to share with you which concerns you.

On December 1, 1955, a middle-aged "negro woman" in America, Mrs. Rosa Parks, refused to stand up for a young white man who just entered the segregated bus she was ridding in. If she did, she would have had to stand all through the journey.

At that time, the bus is segregated in most parts of America: white people sit in front rows and black people sit from the back. Blacks would normally pay fare to the driver in the front, then step out of the bus and go through the back door to find a place in an already tight area at the back. If the allocated spaces for blacks are filled, all other blacks joining the bus would have to stand even when the more than half of the bus spaces reserved for whites are empty! Such was the injustice and humiliation that black Americans faced then.

For refusing to stand up for the young white man, Mrs Rosa Parks was immediately arrested, scheduled for prosecution on Monday December 5. Then the Rev. Martins Luther King and his NAACP comrades stepped in. They called out the people. They spoke about the sad realities of their existence, the terror of an unjust system and barbaric treatments in the hands of fellow Americans.

In addition to speaking out, these Black Americans decided to take action to protest that injustice by boycotting the segregated buses. The boycott began December 6, 1955.

Dear friends, here is the crux of the matter: Black Americans took action! For 1 year and 16 days, *they trekked to and from work or boarded improvised pooled taxes, everyday*, until the US supreme courts declared segregation unconstitutional!

During the struggle, someone offered one tired black woman a lift in his pool car, but she declined, saying, *"l ain't trekking for myself, but for my children and grandchildren "*!

So, dear friends, whenever we don’t take action and we feel unobligated, unconcerned,* we should simply remember the black Americans and those women. Without them, the freedom that US enjoys today wouldn't have happened, or happened too late.
Obama may not have become the President of US.

So, the questions before all of us now are: Are we slaves to the Fulani people? Are you ready to trek for yourself and your generation yet unborn as the black Americans did? Are we willing to do our own little bits for the cause of good governance and security of our people? Are we ready to act? If today, it is Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Enugu, etc, which state or community is next? We have complained and grumbled enough. Now is the time to take action.

Dear friends, there's a general consensus that with effect from February 2018, there should be a total boycott of Fulani cow meat, including suya, kanda (skin), etc. We should discipline our appetite and make this sacrifice now to put an end to the killing of farmers because of cows.

We can get protein from chicken, goat meat, fish, pork, etc. How can we continue to patronise their business and then they turn around to kill our people and destroy our communities? Enough is enoug

I see buhari starting another civil war on Nigeria which would be bloody, deadly and devastating. because I am so sure he would use force or subterfuge to establish the so called cattle colony in the south which would be resisted till the last man.

He would like to grab land by force in the South, but he does not have such power. This is not a military administration. Moreover, he will not be President forever. If he confiscates land illegally, the action could be reversed after he leaves. I hope you read about Patience Jonathan's property in Abuja being demolished. No condition is permanent.

I have a different view to this.

Why not allow this colony in the south? One a condition of it being run by indigenes?
This colony is another way to syphon money from Federation account. And it will be wise if we look for ways to be part of it (after all its all tax payers money).

There is no big deal in cattle rearing. I believe some southerners can do better than the Fulani's.

sorry my bad I meant kwara state, not ekiti

Dia are also fulanis and nupes in Kwara state with enough landmass for their cattle colony.

Yoruba has the highest population in Kwara state but not the highest landmass and even the yoruba towns and villages are closer to southwest e. g offa, omuaran, oro, ajase

"On funding for cattle colonies, the minister explained that the initiative would be funded by the federal and state governments, as well as herders who are interested in the policy."

This paragraph baffles me a lot.
1. So our tax will be used to fund a colony for ppl who sells cow and make a hell of money from it
2. That part that says 'as well as herders who are interested' means this won't stop us from seeing cattle being paraded in our cities since most of them won't be interested.

I see all this as a planned work to make this a fulani nation. We let dem own part of our land and they sneak up in the middle of the night slaughter the locals cowardly as it is their way until they are the only ones left in the nation. Which mumu amongst them even this such a dumb plan can work?

Let them come to Lagos and kill once and know how Lagosians will finish their generation in one day

THE TRUTH ABOUT CATTLE COLONIES
The Nigerian govt. have decided to establish cattle colonies in every state of the country. Each colony will be five thousand hectares of land(5,000). This will be for fulani herdsmen. Do you know that :
(1) 1 hectare is a football field.
(2) 10 hectares is one square kilometer.
(3) 100 hectares is 10 square kilometers.
(4) 1,000 hectares is 100 square kilometers, ie 100,000m by 100,000m. And now > (5) 5,000 hectares is 500 square kilometers, ie 500,000 m by 500,000m. This is a stretch of 25 kilometers by 20 kilometers of land mass. This is the kind of land mass they want for the fulani colonies. Imagine parts of the land stretching from Zuba to Gwagwalada to Airport junction to kuje to Aya towards Nyanya to Buari and environs.
# Do you know that many local Governments land mass in Nigeria are smaller than one colony?. In fact almost every local government in the South south, south East, and South west is smaller than one colony.
# So they want to establish one Fulani local Govt Area in every state of Nigeria.
# Do you know that there is only one (1) cattle colony in the whole world? It is in Pakistan, near the town of Karachi.
# Do not read alone. Pass on. Peace.

SAMBISA FOREST
* 686 square kilometers.
* 6.8 million hectares.
* 68 million plots of 100 feet by 100 feet.
* At 5 cows per plot, it can take 340 million cows.
* 340 million cows is 18 times the current number of cows in Nigeria.

They have not told us what exactly they're looking for. But we know!
SAY NO TO HERDSMEN COLONIES.

What is a colony?
The dictionary defines colony as a settlement of emigrants(settlers)who move to a new place, but remain culturally tied to their original place.

The following amongst others will happen if you allow the proposed colonies setup in the 36 states & the FCT.

1. mosques will be opened in your ancestorial homes with horn speakers to call for prayers. Its their culture!

2. Emirs will be installed to supritend over the colonies, its their culture!

3. No limit to the number of wives because its their culture!

4. No limit to the number of children(because its their culture!) This means b4 long, they will out number your people and start spreading because its their culture!

5. You must not complain because if you do, you will be seen as fighting their culture & belief!

6. Even if their animals stŕays out of these colony to your neighbourhood, which will obviously happen you must not complain. If you do then expect deadly attacks.

7. They will not obey the laws, custom & tradition of your land where the colony is located. They obey islamic law, custom & tradition!
Please say no to this evil Jhardist agenda.

Don't be a careless and carefree Christian and start crying later when it is no longer possible to reverse the evil. This was how Ilorin Kwara State was taken over with an Emir ruling them till date.
God has helped us to destroy many evil laws by this government within the last two and half years, this one is the deadliest and this too must not STAND.

Pray using Genesis 11:5-6 that God will confound their speeches, their language and will raise diversities of tongues among them and that this EVIL COLONY agenda be scattered in Jesus name.
Pls let us share widely. It is urgent!

You said it all my brother.

Buhari and his foot soldiers will never go unpunished for all the killings they perpetrated. Benue and other MB states should pull out from that evil union with Arewa and either stand alone or join the South, it is obvious that the abo.kis are just using them and are now treating them like animals to be killed at will and nothing will happen. I'm happy that no Southern state allowed the useless cattle colony in the region. I pity Plateau and Kogi states, their governors are busy playing politics with the lives and future of their people. Nigeria has no future at all.

Unfortunately, Middle Belters have from the beginning always regarded themselves as Northerners and have repeatedly allowed themselves to be used against the South in most presidential elections. Na today?

BTW, cattle business is private business, govt has no business setting up cattle colonies....
There other ways govt can support cattle business but not cattle colonies....

Didn't this same Government import some special types of grass seedlings suitable for livestock to grow.
Not acceptable though, whole country has to offer up land then pay to fund non paying cattle rearers to allow them continue their livelihood.

The stench from here is absolutely grotesque.

Which policy please? Most time you talk as if truly you are a good Nigerian bereft of any iota of bigotry, partisan, tribalism but filled with true statesmanship. But you ain't. You just hide under that pretence like Sarrki to show double sidedness. Why will anyone support free cattle colony for the Fulani if there's no hidden agenda behind it? Is cattle rearing not a private business? Why will federal government canvas for such policy? Pig farmers nko? Poultry farmers kwan? Dog, rabbit, grass cuter, etc farmers, who will give them their own colonies? The Igbo traders littered everywhere in the country nko, when are they going to be given free lands to build their shops? You people should stop supporting evil thinking you are wise.
Though I have known that you are no different from the useless thing in Aso rock for long. I am still waiting on you

Oya oga, tell us your own suggestion on how to end the age long clashes between farmers and cattle rearers since you think the plan of the FG is stupid.
Also has any of the aforementioned occupations led to the massive genocide being seen in the case of this these two conflicting group of farmers.

We must learn to proffer solutions, for everything you criticize you must have a better alternative, not everything has to be political , ethnic or religious after all i don't see how either of those has helped anyone in this country, despite your religious, ethnic or political affiliations every Nigerian spanning the length and breath of this country suffers the same thing from insecurity to poverty to poor health services to poor education to poor amenities and the list continues so in suffering this country is very united and the least we can do is to be sympathetic towards one another. Thanks
