'Wow that's nice. You are the best and you have made my day'

By the time you finish all these, he will forget you did not say 'I love you too'.

Was in an eatery and she suddenly walks up to me and said bluntly 'I LOVE YOU'
I just stood there smiling sheepishly not knowin what to say and later walkin away without a word.
Please what wld i have said in such situation cos i had no feelings for the girl but i dont wanna hurt her feelings.

When my boyfriend first said he loved me, I just stared at him and started laughing because I thought he was kidding. He wasn't; talk about awkward.

Lol @ replies. You could reply, looking very honoured, "Ooh, that's such a nice thing to say tongue. It's good to know you care. Thanks." Warmed by these three sentences, he/she will be mollified that though you didn't reply in kind, at least you appreciate the gesture.
Re: Response To: "I Love You"? by THEAMAKA(f): 12:11am On Apr 15, 2010
I'd say something along the lines of "awww, thanks [smile]" or something like that.
or something like what maedan said.

hurts to know that the person is not on the same emotional level as you but nyeh, i would say thank you, or if this is a very good friend, say i love you back but make sure to add, 'as a brother or good friend' disclaimer,

I have been the in both situation before, as the giver and receiver

I can never be the 1st person to say I love you! I am just very very very slow in the falling-in-love process.

When someone says "I Love You"
I say "Really?" or "OK"

Or if I like the person, I'll just say "I don't know what to say" (with a sorrowful voice grin)

Short and simple. Always werks wink

I remember the first time a girl told me that, we were discussing her nightgown or something mundane like that, and out of the blue she just said "I love you", I was so startled that I cut the call (t'was on the phone), and put off my phone. Up till now I don't know the correct reply to that statement, scared stiff of the 'L' word.

'U love me? Awww, that's so sweet.' Works all d time. I love u is a pretty scary word 2 hear. Especially when u don't feel d same way for d 'sayer' of d word. Y'all feel me?
Re: Response To: "I Love You"? by Mayflowa(m): 12:49am On Apr 15, 2010
It could be so easy to say "thank you" when you are not in a relationship with the person in question. What do you say to your partner that is dotting over you you dont really love and want out?

Re: Response To: "I Love You"? by GboyegaD(m): 11:12am On Apr 15, 2010
Well, the only person I expect to use the word uses it so I am always fee to respond "I LOVE U TOO". Cos the relationship is highly mutual.

Re: Response To: "I Love You"? by CuteAngel(f): 11:42am On Apr 15, 2010
If he tells me I Love U, i will say Oh God Loves you too, but most times i will say 'Thank you, i really appreciate that and will keep it in mind'
