Judge : "I just signed your death warrant"
Former USA Olympic Doctor have been sentenced to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting women/athlete he was supposed to be treating. Over 150 young women, mothers, olympians and daughters came out in court to testify against the sexual predator. In addition he also received 60 years on federal child pornography charges in July. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina has been praised for allowing the women testify.
Judge Aquilina said in court "As much as it was my honour and privilege to hear the sister survivors, it was my honour and privilege to sentence you.
"Because, sir, you do not deserve to walk outside of a prison ever again."
She told the paedophile: "You have not owned yet what you did. I wouldn't send my dogs to you, sir.
"I've just signed your death warrant".
Several athlete such as McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles, also revealed they had been abused by Nassar. Donna Markham whose daughter, Chelsea, was sexually abused by doctor Larry at age 10. Chelsea fell into depression and took her life in 2009, she was 23 years old.
Many of the women who testified in court claimed they were afraid to report him because they were intimidated by his powerful status. The victims were from 6( before they lost their baby teeth) to 15, preying on naive, defenseless and scared girls. For Kyle, she was abused from age 6-12, Doctor Nassar would expose himself to her, masturbate, rub his erect dick on her bare feet and then physically abuse her, all these happened despite her attempt to report him to her parents but she was made to apologise because her parents were friends with his family.
In response The US Olympic Committee has demanded the board members step down. In a statement issued, the Commmittee said :“USA Gymnastics supports the United States Olympic Committee’s letter and accepts the absolute need of the Olympic family to promote a safe environment for all of our athletes,” the organization said in a statement. “We agree with the USOC’s statement that the interests of our athletes and clubs, and their sport, may be better served by moving forward with meaningful change within our organization, rather than decertification.”
The request reflects the sentiment that the USOC failed to protect its athletes. During trial it was learnt that McKayla Maroney a participant in the 2012 Olympics and one of Nassar's victim signed a non-disclosure agreement with The US Gymnastics that she would be subject to a $100,000 fine if she spoke about the allegation.
