Man Constructs A Demonstration Hot Air Engine by Melkizedeck: 12:56am On Feb 11, 2018
A man by name Njiribe Franklin posted a demonstration hot air engine on his facebook page which he recently constructed. Although he is not claiming he invented it, he is only appealing to well meaning Nigerians to help support his idea of opening a factory where he will be building engines of all types locally to help drive the standard of living of the black race that is seen as mentally inferior by the Americans, Europeans and Asians. Or we should at least suggest for him where he should showcase his constructions just as BBnaija is for entertainment. The technological gap between the whites and the blacks has become increasingly dangerous so let us help one of our own to avoid another brain drain.
Go to his facebook page, njiribe franklin to watch and download the video.
Summary of his construction;

Introduction

The project which I have done is a low temperature differential, hot air engine. *demonstration purpose only*
A hot air engine (historically called an air engine or caloric engine) is any heat engine that uses the expansion and contraction of air under the influence of a temperature change to convert thermal energy into mechanical work.
Robert Stirling's air engine of 1818 was the first air engine put to practical work.

*How it works*
In a typical implementation air is repeatedly heated and cooled in a cylinder and the resulting expansion and contraction is used to move a piston and produce useful mechanical work.
Stretch a balloon over an opened can. Put the tin can in hot water; the air heats up causing it to expand and push the balloon outwards. Now put it in cold water; the air inside contracts, the atmospheric pressure is greater outwards and pushes the balloon inwards.
*Benefits*
The number one benefit is its advantage of using a multitude of possible 'hot sources' to generate electricity. In a country like Nigeria where the petrol is the mainstay in generating electricity individually thereby sometimes creating scarcity and high cost of petrol, diversifying to others would help improve our standard of living.

The hot air engine could be reconfigured to produce cooling which would air condition our homes during severe hot weather independent of the power industry and improve food storage such as employing freeze-drying techniques

The silence of operation is another factor. It is much quieter than the known electricity generator

It is very easy to maintain

It is more eco friendly than the conventional generator. The engine can be run inside the house unlike the generator which can kill people if run inside their rooms due to carbon monoxide.
*Future benefits*

In a world that is increasingly going green, the hot air engine would play a key role in helping to convert the power of the sun into clean electricity to charge cars, etc
