Buhari sends Defense minister to Zamfara, meets APC’s governors in Katsina

Following recent massacre reported in Zamfara State, President Muhammadu Buhari has Defence Minister, Brigadier-General Mansur Dan Ali (Rtd) move with immediate effect to the state, where bandits had killed between about 36 residents during the week.

Buhari who met with 18 State governors, who were members of All Progressive Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum, in Daura, Katsina State on Friday, ordered the minister to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the situation and report back.

It was learnt that three of the governors were represented by their deputies at the meeting, and that those in attendence included Chairman of Governors’ Forum and Zamfara Governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; Bauchi State Governor, Abubakar Muhammed ; Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima; Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi; and that of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
