Photos of President Buhari making a phone call on his phone was posted on social media and have since gone viral. Nigerians in their usual manner seem to show their reactions to the phone in a rather hilarious manner.

The viral photo of the President which was shared online by his daughter, Hanan Muhammadu Buhari, shows the president making a phone call with a very simple phone - an HTC M8 phone; a gadget used by most “average” Nigerians.

According to a social media commentator, the phone goes for a mere N48,000 for the brand new type and the London used goes for as little as N25,000.

Although one would have expected the President of the country to have used a more expensive or specialized gadget with better security. But it is not stated if the phone actually belongs to the President.

As social media users react to this, some laud the president for his simplicity while others feel it’s a propaganda picture.

Sometimes we see top politicians or businessmen using extremely simple phones. A very common case is that of the oil magnate, Femi Otedola. The billionaire has been spotted on several occasions using simple phones.

The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Forte Oil Plc and Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, according to those close to him, is still attached to his old Nokia phones and does not care the models that are being brought out by the day.

One of his daughters, Temi, caught him still displaying the phones and posted the photo on snap chat with the caption 'Old Skool'.

Even the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote was once spotted using a very simple Blackberry phone. According to a report, these billionaires will prefer to use a simple gadget that is not designed with modern tracking devices to keep them secured from preying eyes, at least to some extent.
