1.) WONDER WOMAN:

Any superhero movie is going to have a ton of computer-generated imagery, but it's pretty cool to see the physical sets in Wonder Woman

2.) LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS:

We've come a long way since Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, but it's impressive how well they were able to capture Andy Serkis' performance with technology that's well over 15 years old

3.) MAD MAX: FURY ROAD:

Mad Max: Fury Road used a lot of CGI, but the movie also utilized a surprising amount of practical effects (and tons of real-life extras)

4.) BEAUTY AND THE BEAST :

CGI has made many aspects of moviemaking much easier, but it had to be hard for Emma Watson and Dan Stevens to deal with this.

5.) GAME OF THRONES:

Game of Thrones isn't a movie, but it does have movie-like production values.

6.) EMPIRE STRIKES BACK:

We're cheating a bit again here since it's not traditional "CGI," but it's so cool to see this classic scene from The Empire Strikes Back from another angle.

7.) X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST:

In the case of things like X-Men: Days of Future Past, sometimes the "Before CGI" screenshot looks exactly like you think -- just a harness and a whole lotta greenscreen.

8.) ALICE IN WONDERLAND:

Alice in Wonderland was even more fantasy than I realized.

9.) THE JUNGLE BOOK:

The kid in the "live action" version of The Jungle Book was more or less the only human in the film, but that doesn't mean he was always alone on set.

10.) EVEREST:

With something like Everest, it's always interesting to see where production teams draw the line between what to build into a practical set and what to make out of CGI.
