Oke Oka - Lokoja Road is the shortest route from the South to the Federal Capital City, Abuja. However, the road was more notorious for causing incessant fatal accidents than serving as road particularly at the Oke Oka hill. This made motorists and commuters nicknamed it "Notorious -Killer -Oke Oka Road "

On assumption of office, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN becomes uncomfortable with the reports of incessant accidents on the road. There are big pits by the sides of the road making rescue operations difficult in case of any unfortunate incident. All that are now history as Governor Akeredolu has reconstructed the road pilling both sides with hardcore to prevent moving vehicles from falling inside the pits even when it stray off the road.

There was a pathetic story of a whole family who lost their lives while returning from their daughter's convocation at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in 2005.

The community people were full of excitement on Thursday, 22nd February, 2018 when Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN joined by the Minister of Mine and Steal, Dr Koledoye Fayemi commissioned the reconstructed road.
