NEED TO EMPOWER WOMEN

Reconstruction and reconciliation efforts take root more quickly and are more sustainable when women are involved. Women involvement is the sine qua non is solving a country's conflicts. God blessed women with the spirit to promoting peace building. By helping women become participating member of a democracy, one can look to mitigate conflicts or stop conflicts before they begin.

The era of disrespecting women has gone. At this contemporary time, women are becoming intelligent and stronger than their male counterparts in all ramifications. Women have an instrumental role to play in the creation of an enabling environment in the form of gender - sensitive policies, legislation and mechanism to combat chaos. Women should be integrated to contribute to decision- making. This is a powerful factor that can combat any form of conflict and also lead to national reconstruction and reconciliation.

Women have an incomparable wisdom to take a country to the next level for the betterment of all and sundry. Living them behind will lead to economic, social and political backwardness, thereafter, increasing corruption, recession, terrorism, kidnapping, conflict, suffering and poverty, etc. We are reaching a point in development where if we do not demand that women contribute their full potential then we notice a massive creative lag in that society. No country can be free, until every woman has the same rights opportunities and obligations as their male counterparts.
