How To Get Your Staffs/Team Members Hooked On Your Vision

By Johnspeak Uwangue (Motivator, HR Consultant, Talent Manager and Coach)

In the course of providing trainings and coaching for individuals and organizations on talents management, Business growth and leadership, one issue that I have always been posed with has been the issue of getting staffs, teammates, employees, hooked on to a vision or dream. Every business or venture has its foundation on a vision. Vision is the car while the entrepreneur, leader, team head, department head are the drivers. But the success of the driver is rooted on the collective contribution of the other team members. If you have a great vision, you will need a great team members who are as passionate about the vision like you. Your employees, staffs, team members can either slow down the vision or fast track it.

Today, due to popular demand, permit me to share with you just some few tips that you can use to get your subjects hooked on your vision.

- People don't follow VISIONS
It will interest you to know that people don't want to follow your vision, they just want to follow you. You must make yourself the vision that they can see.

- What's In It For Them?
People are tired of hearing that their rewards are in heaven, they want to enjoy them here on earth. Every vision that must attract support from people must have benefits for the followers. The reason why most people do not support the vision of their friends is mostly because there's nothing in it for them.

- Where Will It Take Them To?
As a leader, you must be able to explain to your subjects where the success of your vision will lead them to. Most leaders are always fond of abandoning the first members of their business after they've succeeded. Some pastors are fond of this, they always neglect the welfare of their first members when their church have grown. Some organizations have been able to gather the support of people by providing company's shares to staffs who helped in building their organization from the onset.

- Can You Be Trusted?
People are scared of following people who will abandon them on the way to follow other path. As a leader, you must build trust among your staffs, teammates etc. If they can't trust you, they won't give in their best.

Succeed You Must.
