BAUCHI State governor, Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar, has declared a state of emergency on the state own tertiary institutions with the aim of standardizing them for quality certification.
The declaration was made at the matriculation ceremony of a total of 3,442 new students of the College of Education, Kangere, Bauchi for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Education, Comrade Sabo Mohammed, lamented that the administration inherited a sector that was in a state of comatose.

He added that in order to get out of the situation, his administration would hasten infrastructure development in the college to accommodate the teeming students’ population.

Governor Abubakar said that he had placed education and agriculture as top priorities of his administration from inception because those are the mainstay of the state.

According to him, similar efforts are in the pipeline to provide potable water in all tertiary institutions in the state.

”Already, the government has liaised with the National Commission for Colleges of Education for the accreditation of various courses in all tertiary institutions to reflect on the state of learning materials procured to hasten education development,” Abubakar said.

He then advised the students to face their studies and shun all acts that are inimical to morality, saying that government would not condone cultism and other immoral acts within the campus.
