Throwback:So many illegal things happen in Nigeria . Precedent does not make it right. It must be governed by some kind of law or regulation otherwise WHY CAN't HUSBANDS BE SENATORS IN THEIR WIVE's STATES What is the law/rule Do you know? Where is it written? |
Re: Time To Kick Out Senator Remi Tinubu by Throwback: 12:55pm On Mar 18, 2018 |
0monnak0da: Dr Peter Odili's wife, Justice Mary Odili, moved up in the Judiciary, using her husband's SouthSouth region slot to get into the Court of Appeal, and her own SouthEast region slot to further get into the Supreme Court. Such ability to alternate state/region of origin is advantageous to the beneficiary, while unfair to the peers who have to compete on a single origin. 4 Likes |

Throwback:I am not saying people to nnot do these things though I will not comment on the veracity of our claim what I asked for you have not addressed . Can you provide a basis whether in Regulation, Statute or Constitutional provision Is it liimited to wives? Does it apply to husbands? Please do not derail the thread. That is not the subject of discussion. She is already a Senator for Lagos State |
Re: Time To Kick Out Senator Remi Tinubu by Throwback: 1:05pm On Mar 18, 2018 |
0monnak0da: Oh it is true. I got the information first hand from a judicial source at that time it occured, and I just confirmed after I had already posted, that same information about now representing the SouthEast in the Supreme Court is stated in her Wikipedia page. Apparently, it is a loophole exploited by wives. I do recall that there was an ongoing federal legislation about it to allow wives identify with their husband's origin, but I cannot remember that there was a conclusion on the matter. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Throwback: You are derailin the thread. If you cannnot substantiate what you are saying with evidence can you sto talking at cross purposes or if that is so important to you do it without quoting me. I asked you the same thing and you are jumping about. Is there a law rule or regulation? Can you publish it? What has what happens in Judicial council got to do with elected office? Please stop derailing the thread |
Re: Time To Kick Out Senator Remi Tinubu by Throwback: 1:20pm On Mar 18, 2018 |
0monnak0da: I don't understand your grouse? I did not introduce any new topic of discourse apart from the very topics you had already established from your very first post. I already gave you political electoral and senatorial precedence using Grace Folashade Bent in Adamawa, and even gave you a judicial precedence using Justice Mary Odili, as to how wives exploit the origins of their husbands, just as that of Remi Tinubu employing Tinubu's official Lagos origins irrespective of claims that he was adopted by the Tinubu family. Every single line of your last quoted statement was responded to without ambiguity, even your concern about the veracity of my claims of Odili's wife. As for Remi Tinubu being efficient as a Senator from Lagos, it is left to her constituency to decide her fate even if her party renominate her. She is just a floor member of the senate, and it is on record she has pushed bills for the benefit of Lagos, even if she did not succeed at it. I also reckon she has verifiable constituency projects and programmes that have added value to her constituents. It is left for her constituency to argue to the contrary, and for the majority to deny her a return to the senate. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Throwback: So what is your argument with me ? Can you reason at all ? have I disputed that there is no precedent. My question is are those precedents lawful or backed up by statute or law .What is so difficult to comprehend about that? Again I asked you if there is a law can you share it. Clearly you cannot so what is the point of you obnoxious obsession. If precedence alone is enough why then is specific legislation about it being discussed just now at the national Assembly. Indeed there is a Nairaland thread on that several weeks ago. I have already made it clear that is not the main grouse I have with her but you obstinately choose to major in minors Must you quote me. can't you just pour out the disturbed contents of your mind without disturbing me I did not express any concern about the veracity of your statement. Read and comprehend do not distort I chose not to comment on it because it is irrelevant. What applies in tthe Judiciary or Civil Service does not apply necessarily to elected office 2 Likes |

0monnak0da: Wow! You really have anger issues ooo. Who took your bread? Why not go to your room and argue with yourself if you are so intolerant of contrary opinion? This is not even an issue I am discussing with any passion. I was only availing you with relevant information so you could take a position that is objective rather than emotional. I have admitted in my posts that it is a loophole being exploited. I have informed you about a past legislation concerning wives' state of origin for which I have no knowledge of its conclusion. I have given you my own opinion regarding Remi Tinubu's modest performance in the Senate, and the power of her constituency to sack or return her at future polls. But it seems you are an angry fellow who rather wants to blow off steam in a hitherto very civil debate you started yourself. So proceed alone as you like. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Throwback:I am not interested in what you have to say on the matter so quit stalking me? It is not relevant here. What is your problem. You are not telling me anything I do not know. I said that is a peripheral issue so why the fixation? Is Senator Remi Tinubu not already a Senator? Don't I know that? So what is it that is useful that you have said that we do not already know. Is she the only Senator in Lagos? Are any of them indigenes? Don't we know this? Please just naff off and don't come back 1 Like |

This Op self. You must be a very petty fellow. So your grouse with Remi Tinubu is simply that she 'defended' her pay? While her peers are spared of your anger for showing 'sensitivity' by keeping mum while still chopping their own money in silence? You didn't even pretend to try to emphasize her performance with respect to the impression and impact she has made on her primary constituency (Lagos Central Senatorial district). Or perhaps it is the fact that she's not an indigene of the state that is really annoying you (FYI, there are 3 Igbos and 1 Urhobo also representing the state both at local and federal levels). Or maybe it is just that you don't like that she is a woman or you dislike her husband? Well, anyway it is a free world and you are entitled to your one-man-army crusade but I seriously doubt that you have what it takes to deny her of a return ticket to the upper chamber. But goodluck all the same. 10 Likes |

0monnak0da: Please carry on with what you know being omniscient and continue the debate inside your room. You shouldn't have bothered with creating this thread since our foolish contributions would only irritate you. I won't come back to this, and I will never contribute to any of your threads or quote you even when you are quoting others. You need to be isolated and ostracised, since you are clueless about what a public forum is. I repeat, you are omniscient, so stop wasting your time here with those who have no knowledge as you do and go into your room to debate with yourself alone. 10 Likes |

Throwback: Stop the pathetic whining . You made the point relentlessly and beyond a point when most reasonable people would have moved on. The issue that she iis not from Lagos State is an incidental observation. Why then try to misrepresent me as though I anywhere said she should be voted out for that reason. Is not another Lagos Senator now trying to be governor in Ogun? Please spare me the sob story Our beef with her is that she did not get there on Merit and she has not performed. Her behaviour at the senate has often brought embarrassment to Lagos State. It is also noteworthy that she is not from Lagos. 1 Like |

There are those small people who say Tinubu is so powerful his influence is so overwhelming who can unseat his strength I say to them take heart We can unseat him and his band of opressors who take us for grnted in Lagos state and we will It takes only one step up truth to catch up with a million steps of lies. We do not need Senators to EMPOWER us with our money We will be coming for Desmond Elliott too. Was has he contriibuted? He was one of those who passed the the Alpha Beta law.. A movie called Our Mumu done do coming to a cinema near you in Lagos. Remi Tinubu is going down. quote me in 12 months |

Tinubu has not come out specifically to respond to any of the Fulani herdsmen killings. He is hedging his bets At any rate he is not in government What about Senator Tinubu his wife? What has she done or said about the Fulani herdsen activities Is her silence representative of her constituents. What has she done to mobilize relief to the people of Benue? How much money or food has Lagos state sent ? Is this consonant with our values 1 Like |

0monnak0da: You started your topic by pointing out that she's not an indigene of the state. So don't pretend not to take it serious. If not you wouldn't put it in your topic in the first place. Nobody needs any legislature knowing that customarily, a woman becomes an indigene of her husband's place in Yoruba land and in some other African cultures. She is a Lagosian by marriage. You said she didn't get there on merit. Can you explain to us why she's not qualified to be a senator? Is she not qualified academically? On the issue of performance. Can you judge her on the level of other senators from the state? What are others doing that she's not doing? If you can't provide clear answers to these, then I'll agree you have personal issues with her. 7 Likes |
