Released in May 2017, the Essential PH was the first mobile phone to spot a notch. Released to varied reviews regarding the notch and camera, not many would have predicted that Apple will follow suit with their own notch on the iPhone X.

In this article, we take you through 7 of the best Android phones with the iPhone X notch and it promises to be a delight for readers who like the notch but do not want to migrate to the iOS



1. One Plus 6

With the success of the recently released One Plus 5T, the One Plus 6 is scheduled to arrive in June with Snapdragon 845 and will spot a glass back and vertical dual rear camera too, trends in the mobile space at the moment. It will also spot the fingerprint sensor below the camera as is obtainable in the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus

The One Plus 6 is to have a 19:9 aspect ratio display, taller than the 18:9 panel of its predecessor, the 5T, a much improved display and the much talked about iPhone X inspired notch




2. LG G7

With the release of the LG G7 scheduled for April according to rumours, leaks have revealed it will come with the iPhone X notch, Single SIM (Nano-SIM), IP68 certification that makes for it to be dust/water proof over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

These features are in addition to 6Gb of Ram, up to 64/128gb internal storage options and dual real cameras




3. Vivo X21 UD and Vivo V9

Vivo came into the limelight early this year with the revelation of the first phone with fingerprint sensors embedded under the display. They switch things up a ‘notch’ with the introduction of the Vivo X21 and V9 both scheduled for March releases.

The V21 will packs a 6.28″ AMOLED screen with a notch, will run on Snapdragon 660, and with a dual-camera snapper at the back with 12MP f/1.8 main shooter and a 5MP f/2.4 secondary one for various background effects.

The V9 will be announced on March 22 with dual cameras and additional AI functions. A day later, on March 23, vivo will hold a separate event in India where we will see further details about pricing and availability. According to press releases, the V9 will have a FullView Display and “sleek futuristic design”, meaning it will come with a notch on the top and minimal bezels




4. Huawei P20

What is better than two cameras? Three, as Huawei have set out to prove with their P20 series (P20, P20 Lite and P 20 Pro)

The P20 Lite will spot a 6 inch 19:9 screen with a notch, a dual 16 MP + 2 MP rear camera setup, a 24 MP selfie snapper, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 2,900 mAh battery. It will also run Android 8.0 Oreo. There are also 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Finally, the battery pack will be rated for 3,520mAh. The P20 Lite’s dual cameras will have Leica Branding and 16MP sensors with Hybrid-zoom capabilities.




5. Leagoo S9

Tagged an iPhone X clone because of the notch it comes with, the Leagoo S9 aims to create what has never been seen before in smartphone photography; a 65MP Ultra HD Shot with 23x zoom. With this feature, photos can be enlarged about 23 times, and the enlarged photo image is almost as clear as in the original size

It spots 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage while also featuring a Sony 13MP/2MP rear dual camera, it comes with a 6inch 19:9 HD+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of up to 90%.

Battery capacity is also pegged at 3300mAh, enough to last for a full day depending on usage




6. Oppo F7 & Oppo R15

Called the selfie expert, the two version Oppo F7 (F7 and F7 Youth) will feature a 6.2-inch FullHD+, 19:9 display, a massive 25MP selfie camera with AI features, enhanced real-tile HDR, improved beauty mode and AR stickers.

Also coming in two versions (the R15 and R 15 mirror edition), the Oppo R15 is expected runs on the Helio P60 chipset with an Octa-Core CPU in addition to 6GB of RAM. It has 128GB storage and a 3,450 mAh battery

There is a dual-camera on the back of the R15 – the main shooter is a 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.7 lens, while the secondary one is a 5MP shooter behind f/2.2 lens.

Both phones also feature the iPhone X notch

It's laughable the amount of influence Apple has on other manufacturers.
They Diss it, but they still follow suit right away.
I can only imagine the 'egg in the face' moment for the Sammy fans when Samsung joins the notch gang

I tell u. Same thing with headphone jack removal. Agreed Motorola motoz was the first phone without the headphone jack but that was because there have been leaks that apple will do away with the headphone jack with the launch of the iPhone 7, so Motorola rushed to be the first. After iPhone 7 released many Android usersand manufacturers dissed the iPhone 7 for not having the headphone jack. But just look at it today, a lot of Android phones are being released without the headphone jack. Even Google joined the club with the pixel,.

All these phones lack headphone jack. And I'm very sure if apple did not remove the jack these phones won't be released without the jack. And if apple decides to return the jack with the next iPhone, all these manufacturers will return the jack.

But you have to agree, they're the influencers. If na only Sharp or Essential dey do am, nobody will care. Same happened with the other plenty things Apple popularized, every OEM followed.

Plus that notch has gotten attractive to my eyes. It uses space judiciously.

Samsung won't join, it's almost certain
I believe they will do what was rumored with the Xiaomi MI Mix 2s, top right screen camera, the adjustable camera on one of the new Vivo concept phones or they'll leave it until they can fix it under the screen

There's a reason why they are still using the earphones till today
