The Girl in the rain

Chapter 1
It was very cold and you could feel the sharp menthol
breath down your nostrils. The light bulbs were
blinking and suddenly went to a dim. You hardly saw
who was beside you and could touch the darkness.
One could squeeze the thick darkness at any angle he
wanted.
Suddenly, I got frightened when the lightning struck,
giving a flashy light. The wind started blowing
heavily and the leaves of the trees started falling.
Thunder and lightning moved across the sky as if
there was a competition then, it started raining
heavily.
Being alone outside where there is no shelter, and
the rains, not ready to stop, that ’s when I realized
how life could be. We are friends and we have a story
to tell one day. Yes, I’ m in the rain and I won’t stay
there forever.My name is Fred and the only friend I
cherish is Mandy. We have been friends since our
childhood. I need not boast but the truth is worth it. I
am very gentle and handsome in the sight of people.
Respecting both young and old are my
commandments which were instilled in me by my
parents.
Mandy, on the other hand, is intelligent, humble and
beautiful with both feet on the ground and is
decisive. Fred is a TV presenter and Mandy, on the
other hand, is an owner of a laundry shop. She took
over the business when her parents died. August
18th is Fred’s birthday and as usual, they celebrate
with their close friends (Martha, Alice, Solomon, Sly).
After they celebrate with them, Mandy goes to Fred’s
apartment to celebrate with him alone. It’s a kind of
ritual for Fred and Mandy. Another 18th was here and
they had a party as always but this time around,
Martha asked Fred to make a wish.
“I wish Fred will stop being irresponsible and lazy”
Mandy made the wish and the two of them laughed
over it. “Were you both together as a couple?” Alice
asked
“No!” they both answered and looked at each other .
Among their friends, there was one person who can’t
keep shut, an indiscreet man, Sly. He told everyone at
the party the wildest secret which got everyone to
their feet with a big shock.
“This can’t be true Sly, ” they all said to
themselves.“How can I lie? You can ask them. We
won’t spend money on any transportation. Let’s hear
it from their own mouth” Sly added, “This is a lie. For
your information, we are not going to buy it. Besides,
they are just friends. Mandy, is there any truth to
what Sly just said about you and Fred?” Alice asked
very dazzled.
They all looked surprised and couldn’t say a word
about it. This brought total silence in the room after
Alice was waiting for her answer. Mandy tried to
excuse herself but the eyes of her were very
demanding and needed the truth.
“I wasn’t the one who kissed Fred. He was the person
who planted that mild kiss on my lips” Mandy poured
out the truth and all eyes were on Fred.
