Permit me if you do not understand the relationship in my posting. You may ask, what is the relationship between Rimi and Yaradua's death and the hospitals in Nigeria?

RIMI:
Abubakar Rimi happened to be the first Civilian Governor for the old Kano State. He lived in the state, governed the state, saw the state in the eye of the press. Among other things, he saw how the poor was dieying everyday in old delapidated and substandard hospitals in the state. Reports came to him about the failures and unhelping situations in the state. He was aware that the drugs found in the hospitals in the state are not effective for emergency situations.

Rimi also knew that there is great need to create jobs. He knew of attacks by the youth because they look for what to eat and survive. His wife was strbbed to death. He was also aware that the matter of unemployment was never taken care of in his state. He voted for serious attack on the Niger Delta's Terrorists. If he had lived more days, he would still have known more and kept quiet.

Let us just look at somethng about his death:
"he was caught up in a robbery on the highway on his way back to Kano and even though he was NOT physically attacked or hurt, the shock of the entire episode triggered an apparent chain of health issues that necessitated his hospitalization a short time after his arrival in Kano and he subsequently died in the hospital". 247next.com

Rimi was attacked by armed robbers in Kano Sunday while returning from the eldest daughter’s wedding. Though unharmed, he was said to have suffered a heart attack and died shortly after on the way to a hospital. He was taken to a major state owned hospital in Kano State -the state he ruled for years but there was no stretcher to take him on. By the time manual efforts were pulled together he had gone too far. You can immagine the stress associated to this. The medication was also to minimal for the emergency of his final hours of his life. He finally died less to his imagination of the day as he woke up early in the morning.

Earlier, when he was the state Governor, he may have thought the hospitals belonged to only the poor whose lives are worthless. Sorry! He never thought of nature not allowing him time to obtain an emergency VISA for health care abroad.

YARADUA:
I'll not say much here because the event is still fresh even, though it has taken long time to conclude. Yaradua was very much aware of the deplorable state of the hospitals in the Nation State. He did nothing untill he had to die. He allowed Nigerian Doctors to go on strike several times all because he thought he would not need their services. Today he is dead. Believe it or not, he would have been better taken care of here if we had better hospitals in Nigeria with well paid doctors.

If these great men who could seek medical assistance elsewher could die even with the attention given or not given, think about the average Nigerian who goes to those rejected hospitals. think about those who go to quarks because they lack money.

Please Governors and GJ, its time to sober up and think about the People of this antion Healthwise. emergency is nobody's friend. It may result that those rejected hospitals may be the end of the road for you.

Its time to think positive and do the right thing.

I kind of agree with this article.

There's no doubt that some nigerian hospitals are worthless.
