Recall that Chief Obasanjo had on Monday while addressing a group of youths who visited him at his resident in Abeokuta described the Buhari administration as a failure. The Ogun state icon in his word also asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) -led government to stop complaining about the difficulties it met on the ground. “What we have now is a failure. Never you reinforce failure, let failure be failure… Those of you who are in business, your business could have been better today if we have a competent and effective and performing government.’’ Reacting to Obasanjo’s criticism, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Monday, April 2, said the assessment was not new. “Already, the statement issued a few months ago by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, in response to the earlier criticism made against the government by Obasanjo had adequately addressed the issues raised,” Adesina said. He affirmed that the APC-ruling party would not cease pinpointing the failures of the past administration with a view to prevent a reoccurrence in future. The Presidential aide, Adesina explained that the Buhari administration has successfully tackled mismanagement of the nation’s economy, as Nigeria now has more savings in its foreign reserve than ever before. Meanwhile, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that Presidential Aide, Garba Shehu says Buhari will defeat Obasanjo, IBB should they contest in 2019 presidential election. www.nigerianews.net/your-criticism-is-not-something-new-presidency-replies-obj 1 Like 1 Share |

Obj have become a serial wailer. So pathetic. He had 2 tenures, Was even gunning for 3rd tenure, Now he sees it abornible for PMB to seek reelecection. We know PMB have failed, and if you are very confident he wont to continue, why not leave that to the people to decide. PMB has the right to contest, to vote and be voted for. Obj's hate speeches just refelects the image of an uncivilized elder States man. Allow PMB to contest and let the people decide. You were once there, infact you laid the foundation of Nigeria's backwardness as the first President of Nigeria under Democracy. How you preferred MTN over our indigenous GLO with your *555*1*recharge pin* benefits. Forced DSTV to host in South Africa while we pay huge sums for subscription. Could not fix roads in South East and other regions. Rigged elections and forcefully installed your preffered candidates as Governors in most States against the will of the people. Silenced oppositions. Tried to bribe NASS to approve your 3rd term bid. Charles Taylor saga. Privatisation of OTTA Farm. If only you had set a good example. In fact OBJ is not in a better position to advise us to way forward. We will decide when we have seen all candidates presented by the parties. Until then If only you had set a very good example. |

Something must be fundamentally wrong with a system that turns a hitherto hero to a villain overnight. PMB came in with the posture of a Messiah about three years ago, just look at what he's turned now. Jonathan had all the goodwill in 2011 and he frittered all of those away before 2015 so much that he was sent packing. OBJ also came in in 1999 with so much hope for a better Nigeria and posterity can judge if he truly placed Nigeria on the right pedestal with his do or die politics. Again, something is fundamentally wrong with the system and structure we operate and until we evaluate it, we might just be dancing around a circle. NB: OBJ and his band of hawks who bled Nigeria to it's current position should even be ashamed to criticize another morally deficient government. |

When OBJ spoke against the previous government prior to 2015 elections in favour of APC he was seen as the beautiful bride ,now he speaks about the failures and propaganda of APC they call him all sorts of names. 'He whom the gods want to destroy they first make him deaf and dumb' |

History will still show that OBJ was the best president Nigeria ever had. .he took over from a military era government, he didn't start blaming military for issues instead he got down to work, he appointed brains and achieved phenomenal unrivalled successes If only we had known we would have granted him a 3rd and 4th term just imagine what Nigeria would have been today if OBj was still the president? We may have even acheived the imaginary N1 to $1 APC promised us 24 hour powr supply and working refineries 1 Like 1 Share |

dFroshie: Is this a trick question? Compare GDP, foreign reserve , inflation rate, liquidity index,. Capital market strength, foerign investment , employment rate, pension reforms, banking reforms , infrastructure Please compare these to all past leaders since 1999 and get back to me Use numbers only not sentiments 1 Like |

it is easy to place the blame for hardship on the shoulders of leaders, especially if the leader is not the candidate chosen by all of us.. in the minds of their opposition, the leader turns into an enemy, their Mistakes turn into a premeditated attacks on comfort and safety of the masses, their human flaws turn into irreparable defects and their missteps turn into wicked conspiracies. we end up being divided in the line of opinion, and sadly, many of us refuse to see any good in those who disagree with us simply because their view and believes happened to be different from ours. CRITICISM in my opinion is a healthy tool in leadership. Criticism is that restraint that holds a leader from turning to a dictator. I urge that we be guided. |
