If there was a legislation set in place for Nigerian leaders to publicly declare their personal assets before taking over office
would that make a difference in the nation's corruption levels? undecided undecided

What are your opinions??

Yes it would. In any sane nation, assets must be declared before getting into office and after leaving office but in Nigeria what do we see? You'll see some middle aged guy who was sponsored into office and had less than N300,000 in his account before assuming power leaving the hot seat with over $5 billion in foreign accounts. And nobody blinks.Matter of fact, it is expected of them.If they steal money, most Nigerians praise them and a few call them rogues. . .if they don't steal money, all Nigerians call them fools!

And they keep wondering why the country isn't moving forward.

this is what i keep saying everywhere i go. our problem is not in our govt or PDP but in us. all of us. the only way corruption will drop in nigeria is if there are more honest people in nigeria than corrupt ones. but corrupt people are more, today, and if you like make millions of anti-corruption laws, unless you will import the people who would enforce those laws, forget it.declaring assets means nothing if the police and the watchdogs of corruption are corrupt.

has anybody here read the nigerian constitution? and compared it to the US constitution? the nigerian constitution is a better document . . . on paper. yet their system is working and ours isnt. why? the british dont even have a constitution at all. yet their society is organised. why? bc of the people there.
