The students of Niger Delta University led by their SUG president protested due to the unnecessary increment of their school fees .

The school authorities sent thugs to stop the peaceful protest ,and injured the comrades involved in the protest.

There is still confusion as to what to do next..since the school authorities of the Niger Delta University are hell bent on stopping the protest...

Many students were left injured ...

Naija which way?...

Something must be done to curb this menace oo... NDU is the only state university in Bayelsa.. Yet they want to close it down..

State governors these days are making life unbearable for the masses that gave them their support.

AAUA increased tuition fee by 700%, for crying out loud; what's wrong with these governors?

Moreover, they enjoyed free education under Chief Obafemi Awolowo, now it should be their turn to sustain the system so that citizens would enjoy the dividend of democracy, but they chose to punish same citizens who voted them in power.

I wonder if an average civil servant can afford the tuition fee of 2 children at once in the same State's University.

Nigeria is a ticking time bomb.

Shithole country...
Nothing works in Nigeria, the most annoying part is that after graduation, job is not even guaranteed.

My stake is that a state school that can charge as much as that amount should also be able to employ their graduates.

The most annoying thing is that they have refused to tell us the reason for the increment..

If they're increasing school fees to give us better services I'll understand... But y should I be paying bench fee of 80k and still in sitting on top window in class...
Or pay 40k for internet fee and yet the school has no internet access..

It's all gibberish...
And something needs to be done...
Stabbing and shooting innocent students protesting for their right has gone too far ...

Bayelsa state is the true definition of shithole.

A state with only one urban settlement yet no single project under construction.

Receives one of the highest allocation yet salaries are being owed.

The least educated state in southern Nigeria yet school fees are being increased yearly despite the fact that salaries are being owed.

Just last month the governor transfered a large proportion of the non academic staff leaving only about 400 non academic staff for a university?

A state that employed thugs and branded them "Bayelsa Volunteers", oppressing we the students and everyone else who opposes their grandiose madness.

A state where the governor once said the only state university has not added any value to the of the state, even contemplated closing it down.

They say the south is marginalized, it's not just in the aspect of funding its everywhere and on this site. I've spotted several threads on NDU school fees hike yet none has graced the Frontpage.
