Because it seems all men have failed God in some way we are not sure how God will judge on the last day. To shy away from the feeling of a harsh eternal doom for all sinners we embrace the gospel of grace. The thoughts of being judged by God and the eternal torments that follow is being submerged by all means.

I discovered an unsuspecting area of our lives that we often overlook that has great magnitude in God's eyes and determines how we are weighed by God. Our words!

Our words have the potency to make us pure or defile us. The Bible says we are defiled by what we say. If a man has no faults in words he is perfect. James. 3:2. For this to be stated explicitly in the Bible It means God is attentive to how we use words and will judge us on that on the last day. Matt. 12:37.

Our words are more powerful than we think, even more powerful that our thoughts. Words have the ability to create and to destroy. God spoke the earth into existence through words. Words have the potency to bless and curse. God in delivering the world used His Word. John. 1:14. This spells out vividly the potency of words as it appears in the eyes of God. Words have life-forming and taking abilities. James. 3:1-13.

On the last day I presume that it is the way we used words in our lifetime that stands as an everlasting monument before God. What motives were behind them? Did we ever bother to consider their effect on people? The Bible instructs that we make our words seasoning and full of grace always Col. 4:6. Note that there are no empty words. All our words live forever.

For God had to try his own words and purified them seven times before he spoke them we should be sure he will not permit that we be thoughtless with our use of words. Ps.12:6.

I am convinced that the consistent use of pure words will in time purify the thoughts because thoughts over time align with the words we say.

We therefore constantly need to seek God's help to cultivate the habit of thoughtfully using our words to his glory and the betterment of others.
