Everybody has different meanings of what Easter is all about - to some, it’s about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, while to others, it’s a time to relax and probably have a family getaway. But to one of Africa’s leading smartphone brand, itel Mobile, Easter is a time to celebrate its consumers by gifting them with awesome rewards to enjoy the season.

As a way of reinforcing its commitment to providing unique consumer experience for all consumers, itel Mobile launched an Easter egg campaign – itelEggSpression which was aimed at giving every consumer and fan an opportunity to win amazing gifts while enjoying the fun that comes with the egg challenge. Here is how it all went down:

The birth of an amazing initiative
The itel Easter Egg campaign started with a need to connect our consumers to the amazing feel of Easter while staying connected to the brand’s identity of being creative and reliable. The campaign which lasted for 10 days had over 500 entries, submitted on different social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by different users across the country.
What was the challenge? Interestingly, all they had to do was creatively paint an expression and the letter I.T.E.L on at least 3 eggs after which a clear picture of it was posted on social media platforms with the hashtag #itelEggSpression while tagging @itelmobileng.


A winner’s tale
No pain without gain right? With over 500 entries recorded, winners had to be picked to be recipients of the itel’s amazing reward. After reviewing the most creative and beautiful entries, four people emerged winners across the three platforms- two winners from Facebook and one winner each from Twitter and Facebook.
The winners were rewarded each with itel’s premium smartphone- itel P31.

The itel P31 is a powerhouse donning a 5000mAh battery capacity which can last up to 3 days of moderate to heavy use with just one single charge. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core processors.

Commenting on the itel’s loyalty to fans, the Marketing Communications Manager, Oke Umurhohwo said, itel’s success in the African market can be credited only to the consumers and this activity is one of the ways they aim to give back to their esteemed fans. “We at itel mobile take our consumers seriously, because in the real sense of it, without them, we wouldn’t be here and one of the reasons for our continuous success in the African market is our dedication to providing a variety of reliable and trendy smartphones for consumers with the mind set of empowering consumers to be connected with first class products” he added.
