I'm a Muslim and I can't
support what's obviously wrong .. Islam as a religion among many things teaches one to call a spade a spade and not a garden tool,(just to make it look otherwise )

. Yes lots of youths are lazy (most the uneducated ones ) and yes some are looking for quick wealth ...(via oil money , politics etc),.. but NOT ALL.

and most importantly a sitting president should not go to an international gathering to denounce its ENTIRE YOUTH just to prove a gadamn point! its never done

even if ALL the youths are armed robbers..

its not proper! Not for any political leader Talk more of the highest office of the FRN ..
the office the president is one office you can't handle with absolute ignorance and zero diplomacy. .

"Youth" is plural, agreed, so name the particular "Youth" bubu was refering to, and while you are at it, ask yourself why he used "they" and "them" in the remaining part of his speech since he's refering to one person according to you and your brain.

Did he say he's referring to one person?
He said the word YOUTH is already a plural word. It refers to many persons.
Their is no such word as YOUTHS with "S" ... Why is everyone like this?

When you mess up your tenses as is done here millions of times on NL, you more or less allude the fact that indeed the youth are lazy.

That someone in the past made derogatory statements about the youth in Nigeria does not exonerate the president's blunder.
Much confidence was reposed on him to set things right because he boasted that he could do so.
Digging up who said what in the past to let Buhari off the hook is arant nonsense and begs the question.
Nigeria needs a capable president to move this country forward for Christ sake! People are suffering both home and abroad.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has described the controversial statement made by President Muhammadu Buhari regarding some Nigerian youth as “apt, precise and succinct”.

Buhari while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster, said some Nigerian youths sit at home and do nothing.

The statement sparked a lot of controversy.

However, in a statement on Monday, MURIC’s Director, Ishaq Akintola said Buhari was not the first Nigerian leader to have described people as lazy.

According to him, former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar; Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa state; and ex-military president, Ibrahim Babangida had directed such statements at Nigerians.

The statement reads, “The problem with Nigerians is that they always run away from reality. Not known for verbosity, our president has hit the nail on the head,” the statement read.

“The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) contends that the president’s description of the Nigerian situation regarding its youths was apt, precise and succinct. Many of our youths are lazy but we don’t want to admit it. Instead of commending this truthful leader, we started calling him names.

“Nigerians need to contextualise the president’s comment. We have seen many youths functioning as political thugs as the 2019 general elections approach. What of the ‘agberos’ or touts who have now spilled out of motor parks unto the streets and bus stops? What responsible work are they doing? Are they not youths?

“We have forgotten that Buhari is not the only leader who described Nigerians and the youth in particular in this manner. Governor Dickson in a media chat on 17th may, 2016 was alleged to have said, ‘Bayelsans are so lazy, they want everything free, they don’t want to work’.

“The 25th September 2017 edition of a northern-based newspaper also reportedly quoted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as saying, “Northerners are lazy” while General Babangida (rtd) allegedly opined during a BBC Hausa service interview of 16th April, 2010, The Nigerian youth is useless, cannot lead.

“Senator Shehu Sani added flavour to this in December 2017 when he reportedly said ‘Northerners are "lazy".

Hypocrites everywhere...
Anger is mostly driven by hate and this is what's been the issue in this country.
Hatred everywhere against each other.
North hating south and south hating north.
southwest against south east and north west against north central.
Love and forgiveness is free but it seem to be very difficult for most of them.

What about the hardworking ones?
what is the percentage of hardworking and lazy youths?
Besides, why are they lazy? are they lazy because they are not doing anything as a result of slow economy? or are they lazy because they see work and do not want to work?
As far as I know the economy of Nigeria is upheld this day because of private sector which is dominated by youth and few learned men in our society.
If it is the FG, is it where they loot, sleep in chambers, conspire against opposition, is it where they are hardworking? Without private sector, Nigeria economy would have crashed long ago.

Look at it;
MTN - private
Globacomm - Private
Banks - Private
Private universities - Private
Private hospitals - private

all these are the key structure of Nigeria economy.
But watch this,

Power sector - FG
Education sector - FG
Ministries - FG
Medical - FG

Evaluating both sectors, which one is considered inactive and which is active? What is the cause of inactivity? Laziness or handwork?
Now you know who is actually lazy in Nigeria.

Mr english, there is a word called YOUTHS which can be a number of persons, YOUTH can also be plural and singular so dont lecture me on tenses when you dont know what you are saying,

He used plural, fine, his obvious insinuation was what prompted my first comment,

Now, i care less if you're not a youth, for bubu to say that internationally in an investment forum, and for you to see no wrong in that speaks volume to your persona.

This MURIC is becoming a nuisance with their in analytical view of things.

Even if IBB and ATIKU did that was it at a gathering like CHOGM?

Did IBB and ATIKU also told a gathering in UK that all Nigerians are corrupt?

So, IBB and ATIKU are no longer Muslims to be defended?

May be it's because Buhari is a Jihadist, a sympathizer of Islamic terrorists.
