The immediate past National Chairman of opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, today described youths of Nigeria as the top priority in nation building.

The former Kaduna state Governor made this known on Tuesday when the representative of the Youth Support Advocates for PDP (YSAP) and Nigeria Youth Project had a private audience with with him in his Kaduna residence.

The visit which had Comrade Isah Rabiu, National publicity secretary for (YSAP) with his counterpart of the Nigeria Youth Project (NYP) Mr. Dogara Unyem Caesar.

According to the visiting youths, the visit is in continuation of the ongoing consultations by YSAP and NYP, asking Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi to contest for the 2019 Presidential election.

The youths stated that “Given his achievements as two term governor of Kaduna state, Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria and National caretaker chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). A responsibility we scored him higher above others. The more reason why he is considered the most credible alternative for the country”.

Senator Makarfi in his response, thanked the leadership of the youths to have considered him worthy for such a great responsibility.

“Nigerian youths are the best in the world considering their huge contributions in Sports, Agriculture, Information Technology and other sectors of the economy. Youth as topmost priority to nation building must be listened, Makarfi emphasised.
