It has always been confusing. But then again, what people want in a camera is different. I think more MP makes people want a device though.

Budget prices makes people want to get devices with high MP, i think.

I happen to use a Samsung S8+ and a Camon CX. Although both phones differ in price range,Even tho the camera of the S8+ is better, the camera of the CX is okay too.

I always assume that more MP means the camera quality is better
