1. Let the government hand over hospital administration to administrators. It's obvious doctors are bad administrators
2. Let medical doctors see other health professionals as team members and not rivals

Whether they see other as team members or not does not matter,
What matters is Johesu getting justice.
I am happy that Nigerians are now aware of the mess in the health sector and the cause.
How one profession want to suppress other professions is shocking.

Accept the hierarchy within the medical establishment.

The doctor is supremo and must be at the top of the pyramid.

The doctor would always earn more and rightly so.

Other members of the enterprise must be adequately remunerated.

Everyone must come to terms with his/her role, importance and collaborative necessity.

By sacking the minister of health and appointing an unbiased healthcare administrator who is not a medical doctor.

By sacking all the Chief medical directors of our public hospitals and appointing unbiased managers with qualifications in Management.

By creating separate directorates for the different professional groups rendering expert services in the hospitals e.g, directorate of medical services (to be headed by a physician), directorate of nursing services to be headed by a nurse, directorate of pharmaceutical services to be headed by a Pharmacist, directorate of med lab services to be headed by a medical lab scientist etc.

All the heads of directorate will enjoy equal rights and privileges and will be answerable to the Manager.

The different professional groups should be given the opportunity to grow in their fields and earn a decent living just as what obtains in the international community.

They should all mind their lane and stop putting eye into the other's remuneration. You guys are better off than some other civil servants...but greed will not allow you people see road. Ask teachers that give their all to train and groom people how far. Greedy bunch. If I am government eh, no work, no pay.

Hmmmm, for those of us who are still young and ambitious, we can leave the country to places where we would be better appreciated and work without looking over our heads.....and we're already at it.
Since JOHESU want to abrogate to themselves the duties and role of the Doctor, let's allow them do just that. Last last we would be fine.

Doctors should not be the only ones heading the Units. Why will the doctors be the heads of all Federal Medical centres? You will see a small boy Doctor who left school barely 5 years ago will be controlling a senior matron Nurse who has been working for 30 year with Masters Degree in Nursing. Johesu is right on that! Being a doctor is by choice, many people did not want to be doctors from the outset of their lives, they wants to Medical scientist, pharmacist, Nurse, Radiologist, etc. Must everybody be doctor to head a unit?

Why are we acting like Doctors are super human? they simply chose to be! Others who chose other career have right to rule.

CONMESS and CONHESS thing is a scam initiated by the then minister of health(Kuti) who was a doctor.

They should be on same salary scale.
Differences can come in allowances and not basic salary scale.

A doctor shouldn't be superior to other health workers.

The difference is just too much.

They should adopt aworking model from any of the top countries in the health sector. Example, if they want to copy US model, they should copy the wage structure, qualifications and structure

you know that will never happen.I am not a medical doctor but it would be grossly unfair to suggest Doctors should earn same thing as lab scientists or nurses. It is even laughable to suggest.Go on strike from now until 2028 it wont happen. It takes a lot to become a medical Doctor. If there are to nearn the same thing peope would rather chose to become lab scientists or nurses than to go through the rigours that it takes to become a medical Doctor.

Dont worry Johesu . Many more docs will leave the shores of this country . I just pity the ordinary nigerians who will be left to d caprices of nurses and pharmacists.
It is only in my country nurses n pharmacists claim to know what d doctors does except for surgery. Una go dey alrighr las las
That is how one nurse almost killed during nysc because she claimed to know more that d nysc doctor . I spent more days in the hospital flushing out d drug she administered as i had a bad reaction to it .

Yes it is by choice but if the reward is the same we will have less people making the choice to become Doctors in view of the rigours it takes to become a medical doctor compared to those of other medical professions

They should accept MDs as their superior nih that's the solutiongrin

You can't compare a MD with a nurse, pharmacist etc
7years of study, and they've got experiences more than the rest
Let them even fork off, MDs will do their works for them buh they can't do the work of a MD....Simple!!grin
