AMBODE GIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO LASU BEST GRADUATING STUDENT
The Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at the 22nd convocation of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Wednesday, granted scholarship and N5 million cash reward to the overall best graduating student, Ogunsanya Fuhad Adetoro.
Adetoro of the Department of Business Administration graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.78.

NASARAWA STATE GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN 10 PRIVATE SCHOOLS
The Nasarawa State Government has closed down 10 private schools for operating illegally in Lafia, the state capital.
Mr Omaku Zakari, the Area Inspector, Lafia Area Inspectorate Office of the State Ministry of Education disclosed this in an interview with our reporter on Wednesday in Lafia.
According to him, the affected schools were either substandard, not registered or failed to renew their registration with the Ministry of Education.

KWARA GOVT CAUTIONS PRINCIPALS AGAINST ASKING STUDENTS TO BRING BLOCK TO SCHOOL
Appalled by the recent rumour of some Principals in public schools asking students to bring concrete blocks to school, the Kwara State Government has warned Principals to desist from all acts capable of truncating the laudable efforts by the present administration in the state in its bid to give quality education to children of the state.
Alhaja Mariam Garba, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education gave this warning during a meeting held at St. Anthony Secondary School with principals of public schools.

UNICAL SUSPENDS LECTURER FOR ALLEGEDLY ISSUING FAKE CERTIFICATES TO STUDENTS
The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has indefinitely suspended Dr Eyo Mensah, a lecturer at the Department of linguistics, over alleged certificate forgery.
The lecturer’s suspension was announced in a letter signed by the Registrar of the institution; Mr Moses Abang titled “indefinite suspension from the services of the University of Calabar dated 15th May 2018”.

LASU VC PLEDGES FAIRNESS, TRANSPARENCY TO STAKEHOLDERS
The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, on Monday said his administration would continue to be fair, transparent and accountable to members of the university community.
Fagbohun made this known at the Coconut Breaking Festival of the 22nd Convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on Wednesday and Thursday.
