Hello peeps, i did the total test and interview recently in the UK, we were told that they are 2 more stages of interview to go. the 1st one being done by some experts from france and the second being conducted by the technical crew of your dept. of choice. I just wanted to know if anyone has an idea of the nature of these interviews especially the 1st one. Any ideas will be highly appreciated. Thsnks kiss

@Bordeaux,

While dont you share your experience with us about the test and interview conducted in the UK. I guess this will be of immense benefits to a lot of people and I hope people with previous experience of total interview will react to your query accordingly.

All the best!

@Bordeaux,

It seems you didnt get what I was suggesting. Since you claimed that you have done the test and interview in the UK, I was suggesting that you should share the format of what you encountered during the two with the peeps in the house.

I believe there will be people on this forum that will also respond to your question.

BOrdeux - you are already there - your name is one of the cities in france and Total is a french company. I did interview with them back in Nigeria in 2005. What course did you study so that I know the area you have to concentrate? But on the mean time try and understand the applicable software in Total - SAP. This is because they would try to ask questions on application of SAP to your area.

Let me know your area of specialisation

I did the test and Interview as well here in the UK.My understanding is that successful candidate will have 1 more test(Technical Relating to your field) then successful candidates will proceed to interviews with relevant technical line managers after that you have the psyche test then you would then have the final interview with senior managers in your unit, I stand to be corrected. I would also want to know more about their recruitment process especially for IT my area of specialisation is ITIL-IT service Management, Oracle and Software testing. wink

Re: Total Oil Interview Any Idea On The Format? by violent(m): 6:12pm On Jun 03, 2010
the first interview is prob going to be competency based and it might be a panel interview.

They'd ask questions based on the qualities required for the role you applied for.

Expect questions like
" Tell me about a time you made a difficult decision"

"Tell me about a time you set yourself a goal"

"Tell me about a time you were able to convince someone"

if you had applied to a more technical position, then you may have to prep for technical questions like

"How many dentist are there in Ireland"

but most importantly, you should research about the company and the role itself, check if there are facebook groups, you can also make good use of likedin.

Re: Total Oil Interview Any Idea On The Format? by sophy09: 7:55pm On Jun 03, 2010
There is something they call behavioral interview, they will like to know your attitude and behavior. The best thing is to go online and try out the interview questions you see online.

thank you to everyone who has contributed so far,

can anyone who got the job with them recntly give me specific direction, ??
Re: Total Oil Interview Any Idea On The Format? by Remii(m): 11:27am On Jun 04, 2010
I will suggest you go there with open mind and confidence. Getting info and attempting to second guess interviewers can be counter productive sometimes you may give interviewer the impression of being fake or desperate.

I will suggest you read your CV very well and be ready to defend any issues that may come out of it. Answer only questions put to you and do that concisely and without perambulation, if you don't know, say so, since they may take you up on your response. best of luck.
