The Winner - Kukogho Iruesiri Samson

Kukogho Iruesiri Samson is the Founder/CEO of popular educational and publishing firm, Words Rhymes & Rhythm Publishers Ltd. He is an award-winning author of 4 books WHAT CAN WORDS DO?, I SAID THESE WORDS, WORDS OF EROS & WE WHO SOWED HURT & BEADED PAINS (all available on Okadabooks).

He is a multimedia journalist and youth mentor known for his work with young Nigerian writers and the promotion of Nigerian writing through his platforms.

Kukogho has won several accolades for his writing, including the Orange Crush 1st Prize for Poetry in 2012, the Nigerian Writers Award (NWA) for ‘Best Poet in Nigeria 2015’, the 2017 ANA Prize for Fiction (First-Runner-Up), for Devil’s Pawn. He was also listed among the Nigerian Writers Awards’ list of 100 Most Influential Nigerian Writers Under 40 in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, he won the 2018 Dusty Manuscript Contest, which was birthed and organized by OkadaBooks, and sponsored by Guarantee Trust Bank PLC. He lives in Abuja.

The Second Place Winner - Emeka Onochie


Emeka Onochie is the second place winner of the recently concluded Dusty Manuscript Contest which was birthed and organized by OkadaBooks and sponsored by Guarantee Trust Bank. His entry is titled, “The Orchid Protocol.”

Emeka lives in Port Harcourt with his wife, Elizabeth, and son, Ian. He has worked with Wave FM and Family Love FM in Port Harcourt. He currently works with Classic FM 91.1 and he runs Kulture Magazine, A lifestyle magazine.

The Third Place Winner - Nneoma Anieto

Nneoma Anieto was born in Onitsha, Anambra State. The last of seven children, surrounded by six elder brothers, she is from Umunnachi, a calm and beautiful town in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State and a Master’s degree in Media and Communication from School of Media and Communication, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.

Nneoma’s passion for storytelling finds expression in her writing. Her paramount dream—which is being achieved in stages—is to influence young girls in Nigeria to aspire to attain remarkable heights through storytelling. She is also passionate about enhancing the lives of average Nigerians and she works with an international non-governmental organization to fulfill this passion.
