Over the past three years, the value of the Nigerian Naira has been falling. In late 2014, 1 Dollar exchanged for less than 200 Naira. Today, the case is totally different as 1 Dollar now goes for about 360 Naira.

Here is a list of 10 African currencies that have more value than the Nigerian Naira in 2018. These currencies are also among the strongest on the continent.

1. Libyan Dinar (LYD).

2. Tunisian Dinar (TND).

3. Ghanaian Cedi (GHS).

4. Moroccan Dirham (MAD).

5. Zambian Kwacha (ZMW).

6. Botswana Pula (BWP).

7. South African Rand (ZAR).

8. Eritrean Nakfa (ERN).

9. Egyptian Pound (EGP).

10. Sudanese Pound (SDG).

Surprised that the Ghanaian Cedi is on the list? Interestingly, the Naira is not even close to the Cedi in value.

Note: The Libyan Dinar is close to the Dollar in value, and can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other major currencies in the world.
