Inspector Benjamin Peters, the trigger- happy cop who killed a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Angela Igwetu, in Abuja on Wednesday has been sacked by Police authorities.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Sadiq Bello on Friday.

“Police have taken necessary measures; the policeman that opened fire has been arrested, necessary disciplinary procedures have been concluded”.

“He has been dismissed from the Force and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction and he is currently on remand awaiting commencement of trial, ” he said.

Suanu's Blog recalls that Igwetu, who was billed to pass out of the compulsory one-year national service programme, was shot dead by the trigger-happy policeman in the morning of Wednesday.

By sacking him justice has not been done in any way.

He deserves punishment for his recklessness.

20 years jail term if you ask me or in exchange he agrees to settle the family of the deceased N5million Naira.

But who talks about justice in 9ja.

It seems you know him personally?

Did he tell you that there was no investigation?

Since there were witnesses to the murder what kind of investigation are you expecting?
