-As No. 1 global Cancer Centre lauds Ganduje's effort in the health sector

In an effort to effectively treat cancer, its spread and strengthen research in the area, the Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has visited an Australian Cancer Centre, which is the best Cancer Centre in the world, Peter McCulene Cancer Centre (PMCC).

With this collaboration, it means Kano would establish a technologically advanced Cancer Centre that can boast of an advanced state-of-the-art facilities, that could better serve the interest of a patient.

The Centre will also have top-of-the-line diagnostic, imaging and surgical methods equipments. While devoting energy on Cancer care, research with the best facilities, the Centre is designed to be the best choice of medical tourism in West Africa.

Ganduje's recent visit to Austria reveals further how committed the governor is in developing health care delivery system in the state, to the fullest.

At the PMCC governor Ganduje discloses that, "We are here to garner support for the proposed Cancer Centre from many stakeholders across the globe, like Varian Medical System, PMCC and other potential investors."

"We also want to develop collaborations to share expertise in areas such as research, clinical, infrastructure and development. We are here to, among other things, observe firsthand patient experience at PMCC," he said.

Establishment of comprehensive long-term mutually beneficial partnership between Kano state and PMCC, was part of the reasons why Ganduje was at the Centre.

The governor hinted that, for the state medical students to also benefit from the healthy partnership, the state "...seeks support to build
and sustain a training, mentoring, and career development pipeline with PMCC for our medical students."

He concludes his remarks by urging PMCC to see to the healthy, sustained and mutually beneficial partnership to achieve the sterling goals of the state.

Mr Ashley Smith, who is the Director with the Australian Cancer Centre PMCC, in his remarks promised to support Kano state government to realize its dream and appreciated Governor Ganduje's commitment for improving health sector in Nigeria.

He affirmed that, "I must confess that the Kano state government under Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is doing its best in the area of improving health care delivery system in Nigeria as a whole."
