Lagos is a big brother to all states in Nigeria. The nation's commercial capital city can best be described as a nation in Nigeria. The Lagos state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode recently unveiled the Lagos Bus Reform Initiative, according to the governor,

He said the Bus Reform Initiative is a three-year plan aimed at introducing over 5000 air-conditioned buses to replace the yellow commercial buses, popularly called Danfo, which according to him, was no longer befitting for the State’s mega city status.

“We decided that the best thing is to allow the yellow buses go and so the Bus Reform Initiative itself is a three-year plan of 2017 to 2019 in which it intends to bring in new buses of 5,000 units in the three-year plan.

AutoReportNG was privileged to have exclusive access to the images and interior of the new BRT buses that will replace the danfos in Lagos. The buses were made by a Chinese firm and they made cars and buses for auto firms and industries.

These buses were meant to take about 36 passengers at a go.

They're trying. Hope a lack of maintenance culture will not jinx this. Many of those molues that are plying the roads as coffins on wheels once used to look like this. Still waiting for the day I'll see double decker buses on Nigerian roads.

This is a good step by the working Governor but I know the 36 passengers bus Will turn to 50 passengers when it's starts working in Lagos.
50 is an understatement. It'll just turn to many, where you'll have alaporo, pastors and Alfas for delivering sessions.

Of what use would this bus be if it's going to spend all day in traffic jam
Valid point! Next thing you know they'll stop putting the ACs on as a result of too much fuel consumption while in traffic for hours

SCAM!

Ambode should fix the 80% dilapidated roads in Lagos first.

Where will the buses pass without traffic jam

1. Oshodi-Apapa expressway is almost gone

2. Oshodi-Mushin road is half gone!

3. Agege Motor road is a nightmare!

4. All inter city roads within Oshodi-mafoluku area is gone and Lagos state can't talk to Oshodi-Isolo LGA Chairman to fix these roads gradually turning to death traps and they are busy buying new buses.

5. Mazamaza-Monkey village road is gone!

6. Festac link bridge is gone!

7. Festac bridge to Alakija road is gone!

These are just but a few of the dead Lagos roads I can remember, imagine the remaining roads how horrible they are

Don't be deceived, Lagos is dying in terms of infrastructure.

Local Government Chairmen in Lagos are doing nothing. They collect huge market Levies, levy from Keke operators, Okada operators, shops, etc and yet they can't fix inter city roads in Lagos.

If u go inside Lagos cities, streets, connecting roads within Lagos, u will vomit because they are all gone. You can't drive smoothly. If u are driving yourself u will just be angry with yourself and if you are being driven by your driver u will just be angry with the innocent driver who has no hand in the dead roads killing cars in Lagos.

Lagos is gradually dying while Tinubu and others keep shouting Eko Ooni Baje o....for where angry angry

Most of the danfo buses didn't look anything like this.... most of them were meant for cargo not passengers. Most of them don't come with seats
