a guy came marketin a .ws domain name to me, what do you think about the domain. he said .ws means Web Site.  will this domain name be acceptable to the internet community like .com .org .net etc?? how can i convince my clients to use it?

Don’t even bother trying to convince your clients about this. Even among top internet nations like the United States, this domain extension is unpopular. Think about it yourself, how many .ws websites do you visit?

.ws does not mean website, it actually stands for 'Western Samoa'. It is the top level domain for that country.

The marketer did not exactly tell you the truth.

As for the pros and cons, I will leave that to others in this forum.

You should market .ng to your clients instead.

Ops. I digressed. you can use .ws domains if other domain extensions have been used by others and you still want a simple word for a domain name. Example: forex.ws sounds better to be than forexwhatever.com
