The Lekki Free Trade Zone LFTZ is the hope of Lagos State to register her presence as a force to reckon with in

Nigeria and in the new world economic dispensation. The project is expected to showcase more

than 500 Local and International companies but presently 70

Companies have registered and have been allocated undeveloped Land to establish their

Companies, however these Companies are waiting for the state Government to put in place the

necessary Infrastructures and facilities to facilitate business activities. Also Individuals and private Investors

have acquired several undeveloped plots to construct  commercial and residential Real Estate before prices

escalate

However the state government has put forward certain incentives to attract Investors to the LFTZ

and these are as follows:

100% foreign ownership of investments
100% repatriation of capital, profit and dividends
100% tax holiday, custom duties and levies
100% tax free imports of raw materials and components for goods destined for re-export
100% waiver on all import and export licenses
100% permission to sell manufactured, imported and assembled goods to the Nigerian domestic market
100% restriction free to hire foreign employees, waiver on all expatriate quotas for companies operating in the zone
100% hassle free business environment
100% government alignment with Lekki vision and mission

Also at the moment the area seems to be in a deep sleep but in reality a lot of

background activities are already in place, for instance all the major banks in Nigeria have

acquired acres of land to establish branches as soon as the project is fully operational ,also cooperate

bodies have acquired hectares of land to develop residential estates for their staff and the

public, while most of these Estates have already reached a completion state

in readiness for the influx of people into the area as soon as activities picks up at the

zone. Also, real estate speculators have also bought acres of undeveloped land hoping to reap

astronomic profit on their investment as soon a s the project is fully operational ,at the

moment prices of undeveloped land in Lekki Free Trade Zone is the lowest you can acquire in the Lekki axis.
