I am a graduate of mech engr with not much practical experience in the field but all of a sudden i was called upon to supervise all actions in a process factory. i dont know where to start from or the things to be done. however, at the same time i want to keep the job. pls anyone with a good advice.

What's the job, operations supervisor, right?
You need to get clued up on the operations/production management.

Do they have a production/operations manual in place already? Start from there, make sure you understand the production process flow in that factory.
Then try to find materials on operations management to read. You can start from APICS website. I'm sure they have material that is 'quick and dirty', and not too theoretical.
