He wants the real thing. These stuff are the real thing. The "real thing" actually is powered by electricity, which homes in nigeria need more than the real. But honestly this locomotive trains are still in use in the western world, more especially in China. Maybe not to convey people, but it is still in use. Let us not throw the bath water with the baby. As we rebuild this stuff, when the "real thing" come we would have benefitted. Our roads will have less cargo travelling on them. We should begin to learn what to do with this mess and not keep saying this is mess. |

Aloy_Emeka: how is that ashamed? these are locomotives and not passengers trains. there main job is to move goods not really people? its the federal gov that bought the trains for interestate use. Federal gov is not responsible for local metros. they are only responsible for interestate rail. thats why you have lagos state and Abuja building there own lightrail system. |

Re: Nigeria Railways Introduces First-class Passenger Trains In Lagos by GAR3TH(m): 3:20pm On Aug 10, 2010 |
Aloy+Emeka: America's Amtrack rail networks runs on locomotive. . . and yes they are passenger trains. Anyway. . .like i said before, these 20 locomotives that were order are MENT FOR CARGO. I think only 1 or 2 will be used for transport. Once Again CARGO. Fed gov are not supposed to build local metros. thats why Lagos is building a light rail system. You guys don't appreciate anything. |

Re: Nigeria Railways Introduces First-class Passenger Trains In Lagos by bawomolo(m): 3:23pm On Aug 10, 2010 |
tpia- what you posted are cargo trains typically used to carry things like coal, vehicles, non-perishable goods around canada and the US. these cargo are usually then transferred to truck depots (you can see the trailer in the last pic u posted). they are not used to pull human coaches |
Re: Nigeria Railways Introduces First-class Passenger Trains In Lagos by paddylo1(m): 3:25pm On Aug 10, 2010 |
Trains are not about being pretty or ugly. .its about functionality, whats the speed. . how much fast does it go? Above are trains from SEPTA(philadelphia),and AMTRAK(Federal Govt) |
Re: Nigeria Railways Introduces First-class Passenger Trains In Lagos by tpiah: 3:25pm On Aug 10, 2010 |
bawomolo: did you notice this post: these are locomotives and not passengers trains. there main job is to move goods not really people? its the federal gov that bought the trains for interestate use. Federal gov is not responsible for local metros. they are only responsible for interestate rail. thats why you have lagos state and Abuja building there own lightrail system. as per the confusion over what is or isnt the train, blame aloy emeka for derailing the thread with fake photos. |
Re: Nigeria Railways Introduces First-class Passenger Trains In Lagos by paddylo1(m): 3:27pm On Aug 10, 2010 |
