If you want a 'New York' like pedestrian experience in Africa, I guess Nairobi is one of those few cities on the continent that have that.

White Rhino Hotel

This was Nyeri's first hotel, situated at the corner of Kanisa road and Kenyatta way in the CBD. It was established a few years after Nyeri was founded in 1902 and was the preferred spot for settlers in the Mt Kenya region to socialize back in the colonial days. Just like Nairobi grew around the Norfolk hotel, Nyeri grew around the White Rhino hotel.

It was recently refurbished and it can now rival any of the top restaurants in Kenya. I must apologize in advance since the pics cannot do justice to the place. It's really nice.







I like the new look terrace with aquariums lined up through its entire length and the wickerwork furniture which gives it a rustic feel.
