All hail the 'settling' President. Nigeria will surely be bankrupt if project Jonathan is to succeed.

Frank Talk at kano pdp meeting: Jonathan Ready To Pay Any Price For Presidency - Tafida .
Sunday, 17 October 2010 00:00

President Goodluck Jonathan is ready to pay any price to realize his presidential ambition in the 2011 general elections, Director General of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organization, Ambassador Dalhatu Sarki Tafida declared yesterday in Kano. Ambassador Tafida, who led the Jonathan campaign train to the state, asked the party delegates to name their price for supporting the president. “Nigeria is the beautiful damsel which President Jonathan wants to marry. So, I want to know the bride’s guardian and how much dowry we should pay?” the immediate past Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom asked the delegates.

As a response to Tafida’s request, the delegates chorused the name of the former governor of the state and defense minister, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in unison, saying he was their linkman. Kwankwaso has openly endorsed Jonathan, saying that he is a credible person that should be elected.

The event took a dramatic twist, when the party leadership in the hall observed that the event proceeding, which was convened to endorse Jonathan secretly, was being recorded by some reporters.

This reporter and his colleague from the Leadership newspaper, Abdulaziz Ahmad Abdulaziz, who gained access to the hall, drew the ire of the party leaders when they realized that one of them (Abdulaziz) was recording the speech of Kwankwaso with his mobile phone. Suddenly, some security men and party thugs were asked to pick them up and later seized the gadget.

Despite identifying themselves as journalists to the party leaders, the journalists were bundled out of the venue. The thugs also took part of the brawl, saying the journalists were moles who were planted to report the endorsement to public. This reporter was kicked at his abdomen by a security official in the course of bundling him out of the venue.  However, it took Abdulaziz long before he retrieved his mobile phone from the securitymen.

Indeed. This is why some of us insist that Jonathan is more of the same. He is entirely surrounded by the "old order" politicians who continue to hang on to political relevance so that they can ruin Nigeria further with their archaic mindset and practices. Highly embarrassing utterance but hardly surprising considering that Jonathan is now the figurehead of a group that believes in feathering their own nest at the expense of ordinary Nigerians.

It was always political naivety to appoint a Medical doctor whose last role was to be a Nigerian diplomat to the United Kingdom as your campaign manager. Dalhatu Tafida is simply not very skilled in ground politics or mobilising foot soldiers

It is not by accident that Raymond Dokpesi is outsmarting the Jonathan campaign on every front especially the media war. Dokpesi has spent most of his life making a living from controlling public opinnion through his media business. So I always thought IBB's decision to appoint him campaign chief was simply very smart move.

@gowaga, can I ask you a question as a representative of the Nigerian youth?

If you had to vote for PDP under a different candidate would you still want to vote for them?

Is the fact that Goodluck is a candidate enough to give your vote to the rest of the PDP to stay in power with him?

Are young Nigerians actually looking at the wider implication of another PDP administration or are they simply star struck over one man?

This is the crux of the matter. I would not even vote for PDP if they had a mentally resolute individual like Tunde Idiagbon as their Presidential candidate let alone contemplate voting for them when it is Jonathan who , IMO , is weak, indecisive, easily flustered and a believer in politics of appeasement, inducement and pacification. Jonathan , in particular , is a very dangerous choice for Nigeria. He will pander to outright villains , to the detriment of Nigeria, just to get what he wants. The Ogun State impeachment crisis is the perfect example. Jonathan cannot move decisively against unacceptable gangsterism , that sets a very bad precedence for Nigeria, because Gbenga Daniel (the main culprit in the saga) happens to be his campaign coordinator for the SW region !!!! Pathetic !!!!!!
