Lagos State House of Assembly had earlier returned the bill twice to the Executive for review. It recently approved the supplementary budget with the re-ordering of N14 billion of the initial budget, totalling N36 billion.

The total budget of the state now stands at N411,571,000,000 as against the initial N389,571,000,000.

The governor had requested for N46 billion and an additional N3 billion to offset salaries and arrears of workers in tertiary institutions.

Speaking at the brief ceremony in Alausa, Ikeja, Fahola said: "I believe this process will strengthen the democratic process and it challenges everyone to improve on their capacity while rendering their services to the state.

"The budget will help to improve on the ongoing infrastructure development across the state; the budget will further make life more prosperous for the people of Lagos State."

The governor, however, promised to implement the budget through judicious use before the year ends.
