nice message and progress for the future, new technology are always scare at first

I'm an Internetwork Expert and i can tell you there is a motive behind every application development. A deep thinker sees things in more than one perspective.

As a non Facebook user, i am not interested in this.
I already feel swamped by technology as it is.
I feel my privacy is already invaded, i do not wish to add to the problem.
Besides, how many email addresses do i need?
I already have enough.
It is bad enough that Gmail (google) reads my mail at present.

Yahoo mail is in trouble. Gmail should watch their back.

Ymail died a few years back. I only get junk mail from them. . . .last time I checked must have been a few months back. Welcome to the "You got 20,000 New yahoo email" era.

While I can understand Facebook point of view, I think it is a bit scary to think that they hold very personal information of about 500 million people already, and now they will be holding even more information on us.

Also, the argument can be made that it will attract spammers. I mean, if I am spammed in my email box, it do not bother me, but then Facebook is too personal and the idea of spamming and then possible security breach (hack) is not exactly appealing for me.

It must also be said that there isn't anything particularly new with this whole type of email. Other services in the past attempted similar thing. That is, combining email and other social type of messaging together.

Time will tell sha.

Personally, I am not keen. I am happy with my current email provider. I guess it will attract the teenager and those who use facebook alot.

I meant to quote your previous quote, but it was too far down the line. Still going to address it tho:

WHO STILL USES YAHOO SEARCH ENGINE? YAHOO IS DEAD.

Nowadays, MOST people use Google or Bing search engine. Better results, even tho sometimes the results are the same, still Google is more search friendly and [can I say?] Professional.

Don't Seun recently switched to Yahoo Search engine? [s]as it pays more dividends or something? lol[/s]

I use them for email. Nice, easy and spam filter is very good.

Seun uses both Yahoo and Google. Seun only switched to Yahoo because Google was bossing him around about the excess profanities on his site. I prefer to use the Google when searching for items on NL, searches are more relevant and easy to find.

I use neither Yahoo/Google, prefer my school mail. When it comes to email tho, Gmail has taken most of ymail's client [IMO]. One good thing that people seems loff about ymail is it's "options to change theme, color, display etc".

@ yawa,ileke ide and mbulela
i quite agree with you guys. how many email accounts does a person need? i definitely will not bite.
i always refuse those application requests in facebook cos they ask for your permission to invade you privacy
even without your consent and the number of people who say "yes" is just astounding.

the only advantage facebook email is going to have is the ability to send doc, adobe, and large
files to friends.
Re: Facebook Email by chipet(m): 6:27am On Nov 17, 2010
Ppl still don't get this. It's not an email. But facebook has taken our privacy enough to have thought of this one.

Just because Mark Zuckerberg claims it isn't email, do not mean it isn't one!

From all indications, it acts like an email, behaves like one, have a @Facebook.whatever as name, it is been described by multiple outlets as email, then it is fair to say it is an email regardless of what the founder is trying to say.

My two cents.
Re: Facebook Email by DualCore1: 9:36am On Nov 17, 2010

i reserve my comment.
Re: Facebook Email by Nobody: 12:14pm On Nov 17, 2010
nope, i'm not interested.

i really dont see what need facebook's email is going to meet for me.

I'd rather stay conservative, have fewer email addresses and try to make my life less congested with all this excess technology.

have u guys also considered privacy issues??

my two cents.
