How can we have good children again? Children with home training, good behaviour/demeanour, children with the fear of God. Not children who don't know God, i used to assume that atheists were old and matured, usually over-educated people, put today, we have teenagers and kids in their young twenties who have aversion for God or don't even believe in Him. We have hardened criminals and sinners commiting sin with much swagger and bold in their lewdness. What's wrong? Is it the music, is it the parents, the teachers, the friends, devil, what? And to think that these young ones also die and have an eternity to deal with. How do rise to this challenge?

Make me a good child like Samuel,
He was obedient, also respectful.
He will never argue with his parents,
Make me a good child oh God.

How far the world has gone from such a good standard. What do we do to save our kids?

Parents were blessed with children by God. He expects parents to bring up these children in the fear of God so they can grow up to become good citizens, & help build Society, not destroy Society. However, parents are busy working to cater for their family. They get back home after a hard day's work completely worn out. This is the patern daily. Saturdays & Sundays are the days they have to spend with the children. The house helps who cater for the children can not bring them up to required standard. Their teachers at school can do only a little for the children. So parents have to be alive to their responsibility. The children need guidance at all times. Parents should create time for their children. Ensure they are counselled on various issues. The daily family devotion should be geared towards teaching the children more about God; His likes & dislikes. Let them know the penalty for not doing the will of God. The children are ours. We owe them a duty by giving them good upbringing, so they can be good citizens when they grow up. Some parents deliberately pamper their children because they are wealthy, & they feel the children should be allowed to enjoy themselves. On the long run they over-pamper them, they become unruly, disrespectful to their parents & others. They can not clean, cook or do things for themselves because they have house helps to do things for them. Such children on the long run bring disgrace to their family. Please parents, the ball is in your court.

The ball is in the parent's court. I think that's well said. People try to play the blame game, and to shift responsibility. We cannot continue to be away for so long. Even at the weekends, parents still don't spend time with the children. They spend the weekend 'resting', or visiting, or with the tv. Man must make money, but how do we balance it with time to train this children.
Even more painful is the point that many parents believe they're doing just enough by spending money on the children.

To raise godly children entails great concious planing and prior preparations because children are mega projects and like any mega project raising them is highly demanding consequently, to accept to undertake the process of getting them is accepting the offer of shouldering that responsibility.

Rid me and deliver me from the hands of strange children.
