Carmelo gave a load of money to his disappointed mother-in-law, Adela, to go on a shopping spree in order to compensate her for the mysterious cancellation of the cruise. On the first wedding night, Catalina bluntly declared that she would NEVER allow Carmelo to make love to her because she would never stop loving Sebastian (and that was exactly how it went till the end) .

She said she would rather commit suicide than allow him to make love to her. She said that, why she agreed to marry him was because she wanted Sebastian and Martina to partake of their father's inheritance which Carmelo 'legally' hijacked (Oops! what a lame and foolish excuse).

Sebastian, with the help of Don Chuco, Alvaro, his lawyer and Romero, were getting very close to unraveling the kidnappers of Lupe. Carmelo got jittery and transferred Lupe for the umpteenth time, this time, to Catalina's penthouse. (part of the divorce settlement from Sebastian). Carmelo employed two snarling and mean-looking thugs as guards to keep watch over the Penthouse's storeroom to keep watch and prevent any busybody from gaining access to Lupe. He lied to Catalina and her family that the guards were keeping watch over his 'money', kept in the storeroom for him.

Emilia was surprised to see to see her lover-boy, Marcelo, driving a new Porsche car. He told her that Carmelo just bought it for him. She began to suspect that Carmelo and Marcelo may have been the kidnappers of Lupe. Marcelo later confessed to her, (as a proof of his blind love for her), that her suspicion was correct. However, Carmelo overheard him when he (Marcelo), revealed their deep secrets to his lover-girl (Emilia). Carmelo decided he would have to get rid of both Marcelo and Emilia before they reveal his secret crime to all.

Catalina was afraid and called Sebastian to tell him the trouble she was going through in the hands of a potential murderer called husband. She agreed with him that he would be her only lover, while she was still married to Carmelo. That one-time love-making eventually led to Catalina being pregnant with the child of Sebastian. A pregnancy that later stirred up the hornets nest with controversy.

The inevitable death of Emilia was tragic. She was caught in the crossfires between former allies- Carmelo and Marcelo. After the escape of Lupe, the two traded blames for their respective carelessness. Carmelo made up his mind to kill Marcelo to erase every living witness of his heinous crimes against Lupe and family. Emilia and Marcelo planned to run away from Mexico.

Marcelo also planned to kill his business partner, Carmelo. He planted a bomb in the ignition of Carmelo's car. Unfortunately for him, it was his lover, Emilia who snatched the car for her own escapade. But Escape she did, but to hell. As she turned the ignition, she exploded with the car into smithereens. Antonio is going to take Joaquina home because he doesn't like the idea of her sleeping in the servant quarter's.

Cata is getting ready to escape. At that moment Joaquina arrives and asks where she is going, Cata says she is leaving, why don't we treat you right Cata tells her to stop faking it she knows what her plan is, Joaquina says that Cata won't be leaving the house until Carmelo comes to get her,

Catalina tries to leave the Perez’ but Joaquina stops her. She says she knows what she’s doing—she’s going to tell Carmelo where she is. While she’s away, she tells Lucho to keep Cat locked up. Cat protests but Joaquina says a husband is supposed to control his wife. Mr. Perez says it’s a mistake. Carmelo is not a good person. Cat agrees and says he might be your son, but you don’t know him.

Carmelo tells Sebastian he’s wasting his time. Seb says one day he’ll slip up and they’ll catch him. Carmelo threatens Jessica but covers it by saying he’s just going to take his business away from Chucho. He also says he’s going to take the baby away. Seb says he’ll never be able to do that because he can prove that he was legally married to Catalina at the time of conception.

Gustavo wants to help Cat. She won’t appear in court. Adela’s sure Carmelo will get out of jail. Gus says some cops are not corrupt, but Adela’s sure a little money will take care of his problem. Gus says he admires Catalina even more for hiding out from Carmelo. Adela says she’s furious with Cat for hiding out and Ricardo who won’t share now that he’s got Silvia’s money. Luisa says she should go to a fortune teller to get the winning lottery numbers.

Ruffina says its important to speak with Antonietta. She’s worried she’ll tell Carmelo where Catalina is. She says she must tell the truth about Carmelo and Antonieta.

Antonieta tells Fa. Demetrio she’s going to DF tomrrow. She must fix the mix up. If Lupe’s body appears, though, would he please call her. She wants to say a goodbye to the only man she ever loved.

Martina misses her father. She’s not interested in anyone or anything. Ramiro is starting to feel as though she’s not interested in him either. She admits her feelings are confused and right now she can’t think about him. What if they’re really not in love. Just because they were friends from childhood maybe they just had the idea of being in love. He says he left the group for her. Ruffi comes in and says Luisa called earlier to say she got a message from “Boom”. Ramiro storms out at the mention of the group.

Martina calls Luisa who tells her that all the boys, especially Frankie asked for her. She’s not okay. Lie is not so easy. Seb has Cat and the baby now. She tells Ruffi she feels very alone.

Seb says he must do something to take Carmelo to jail. They can’t put him in jail for falsifying the will because then Don Chucho and Jessica will have to go to jail also. Seb says he wants to make sure they’re still looking for his father’s body and the cops assure they are.

Antonio tells Antonieta she better treat his mother with respect or he won’t stay with her. She was the one who loved him when Ant abandoned him.

Joaquina threatens Cat. Cat asks her what Antonio will think of this. She says she doesn’t care, Carmelo is her son, not Antonio.

Carmelo comes home. He tells them he’s free. He’ll never seee Cat again according to Gus. He threatens to kill them like he did Emilia and Lupe.

Antonio insists on helping Josefa with the bags. Joaquina comes in and Antonieta is civil to her. She asks after Cat, Lucho is keeping her locked up. Mr. Perez overhears and is embarrassed by the actions of his wife and son. He promises Cat to get her out of there.

Antonieta arrives at the PH with Joaquina in tow. Carmelo is nasty and wants to know who the maid is. Ant tells him its his mother. He doesn’t believe it. He’s a Mendoza. Ant says no, she’s the woman who sold him for money.

Alicia is trying on her wedding dress. Petra says she’s like the daughter she never had. Gus is teaching her to read and write. She doesn’t think she deserves to be treated so well after what she did. It was very bad. Alicia tells her to forget it.

Carmelo is still fuming at the idea that Joaquina is his mother. H e says Petra assured him he was a Mendoza. How could they think he's a Perez?

Lucho comes home to get his father. His father gets the keys and unlocks the door for Cat. She escapes only Lucho catches her and returns her. He and his father argue and he slaps him. He tells him he has an honest home and won’t have these shannigans going on. He let’s Cat out.

Joaquina ask Antonio if he loves Antonieta. He says no, he never will. (He’s thinking she doesn’t treat me the same as before). She says she’s gong to get good money for saying where Cat is.

Carmelo is still fuming he’s got to find Cat. He goes to ask Luisa but she refuses to tell him. Adela threatens her. She says if she knew she would tell (they believe it).

Seb is back home telling everyone what happened with Carmelo. Ramiro accompanies him to get Catalina. On the way he tells him they broke up and he’s sorry he ever left his group. Seb says he can always remedy that. It’s never too late to change.

Antonieta is laughing over Carmelo’s reaction to Joaquina. Josefa says she shouldn’t be so smug.

Gus goes to Alicia’s. She tells him she heard about Carmelo getting out. He’s worried because Anto and Joaquina got to the PH wanting to talk. He asks Petra about Carmelo but she dissembles saying it’s such a mix up she doesn’t remember. She says Joaquina was always a liar and she’s probably after him for his money

Carmelo goes to get Cat at the ranch. Joaquina meets him at the elevator and says she knows where Cat is.

Seb gets to the house and Mr. Perez tells him he freed Cat. She left because Joaquina was going to tell Carmelo where she was.

Cat tries to tell Sebastian to go see Alicia as she tells him to leave the penthouse & leave her in peace with Carmelo. He leaves enraged. , Alicia & Company are worried that Seb has messed things up & their plan won't work. She calls the ph & talks to Gustavo & explains what happened. Adela & Gustavo fight & he tells her they will get a divorce; she doesn't seem too concerned & is just happy she will be getting her stupid house in Las Lomas,

Next morning- Seb goes to the police with don Chucho & Jesica to demand Car be detained for kidnapping but they don't do anything. He tells don Chucho to not bring Jesica with him ever because he doesn't want to see her again since she is the one that caused all this mess. ,

Eduardo (lalo) goes to visit Alicia & asks if he talked to Seb. She hasn't so they agree that he will go tell him the plan. He tells her that they called him to tell him Sylvia is not doing too good & that her liposuction went bad & she had a heart attack, At the hospital, the doctor tells Ricardo that Sylvia is very ill & could die or remain in a vegetable state. He smiles because now he will be rich, Martina goes to tell Ramiro that Seb is looking for him, Lalo goes to see Seb at the apt; Seb is surprised to see him there & doesn't want to see him. He calls Alicia to confirm this, Catalina gathers her documents in Luisa's purse, Antonio goes to see Antonietta to ask why she gave Cat to Carm. She denies she did that & convinces him. She tells him that Joaquina is not the person he thought she was, & that he bought him for the money, Joaquina goes to visit Carm & tells him that she will tell the whole world he is her son if he doesn't give her money. He starts screaming at her as Adela tells Carm to do something. Joaquina tells him that she has proof she is her money. Adela tells him to give her money so that she won't spread those rumors. He makes a check out to her for 100,000 pesos & she leaves. Carm tells Adela he wil kill Joaquina if she ever shows up to bother him again, Antonia tells Antonietta that he wil never stop loving the Perez, no matter what. He tells her that he will not contest a penny from that Mendoza inheritance. He leaves & Josefa comes in so she tells her that she is really starting to love Antonio, Alicia tells her group that they will try to get Carm's confidence. The escape wil happen when it's time to "carry the groom." They have to convince Carm to help them all carry Luis & then Cat can escape when he's not looking. Seb will wait for her on the street corner. Luis calls the hospital to see how Sylvia is, The doc tells Ric that Sylvia has fallen into a coma. Ric asks how long she wil be this way; he doesn't know & can't say she wil get better. Only that her heart is very weak & she could die at any minute, Lalo tells the gang that Sylvia fell in a coma. They leave to go get dressed. Ramiro calls Seb & he tells him the plan to get Cat. Ramiro agrees to go help him by waiting for him at the hotel. The artistic rep comes to see Ramiro about the singing proposal. He is ready to make him a singing sensation, Adela tells Carm that she has an appointment with Merlin, her spiritual conselor. Cat & Luisa are ready to leave to the wedding when Alicia calls & Luisa picks up the phone & Adela overhears them talk about the plan. Adela grabs her purse & leaves the penthouse to meet up with Carm & the others, but they already left. , At the church, the bride arrives & Carm tells Catalina that when they get married in the church, she should get a nice dress, Adela is waiting for a taxi to take her to the reception, Carm tells Cat that he wants to have the church wedding before the baby is born. Alicia & Luis get married. At the reception, everyone's dancing & having a good time as Seb waits outside. Adela arrives & sees Seb there. The idiot leaves the door open as Adela hides behind there. Alicia throws the bouquet so the men start lifting Luis. Carm joins in & Cat escapes to the street. , Adela did something to the car without Seb seeing her. , Cat runs out & they start making out instead of getting their asses away from there ASAP, Adela goes inside & asks Carmelo where his wife is,

Adela remains unable to communicate. She will probably remain like this for the rest of her life. In her head she keeps trying to tell everyone that she won the the lottery, and she will be able to get better medical care. Instead Gustavo and Luisa take her "home" to Alicia's house which will soon be theirs. Alicia will sell them her home when she returns from her honeymoon and she will move to Luis' apartment.

Meanwhile at the reading of Silvia's will. Ricardo is upset that Eduardo is the other person the attorney was waiting for. Silvia left her will on a videorecording. She leaves Ricardo all the clothes and stuff she bought him while they were together as well as the memories of their time together and all the luxuries he will no longer have! All her money and possesions she leaves to Lalo and she tells him she always loved him.

Carmelo is driving like a madman to get to the mass for Don Lupe. Sebastian is telling the men of the pueblo that he does not want Carmelo at the mass. All the men agree to help keep Carmelo out. The Presidente (police chief?) tells Sebastian that he has enough (I don't know if he said men or charges) to arrest Carmelo when he gets there. The mass takes place (Antonieta is standing at the back of the church).

Carmelo, Catalina and Petra arrive just as the mass has ended. Sebastian and all the men rush out to stop Carmelo. Panchito (who up until this point I thought was pretty level-headed) tries to handcuff Carmelo. They struggle and Carmelo handcuffs Catalina to himself. Sebastian and Carmelo argue and threaten each other. Carmelo threatens to harm Catalina and the baby. Sebastian suddenly runs to a car a drives off. Ramiro and Don Chucho follow him in another car. Carmelo of course thinks he has won and walks into the church with Catalina still handcuffed to him. All the men move aside and let him through. At the coffin Carmelo cries and starts to talk to Don Lupe about never acknowledging him, etc. He lets on that he had kidnapped Don Lupe. Panchito starts to come near and pretends to accept that Carmelo was Don Lupe's son and that he is the rightful heir, in order to get Carmelo to keep talking about what he did to Don Lupe. In the meantime Jessica is looking through all the legal stuff and finds that the name change for Carmelo had never been officially confirmed. She rushes off to the church to tell Sebastian. Antonieta runs up behind Carmelo and Catalina screaming at Fr. Demetrio to do something. Carmelo keeps talking and incriminating himself further. Sebastian is at the hacienda getting a gun. Ramiro and Don Chucho try to stop him. Don Chucho even offers to shoot Carmelo himself as he is old can live the rest of his days in jail! Sebastian gets away and rushes back to the church. He and Carmelo face-off. Carmelo of course threatens to hurt Catalina and her unborn child. Jessica arrives and tells everyone that Carmelo married Catalina using the Mendoza name however he is not legally a Mendoza because it never became official. So this means that Carmelo and Catalina are not really married. Suddenly a shot rings out, everyone looks around. Carmelo is shot by the Presidente. He falls at the feet of Antonieta who is screaming hysterically. They think Carmelo is dead -- he isn't. At some point here Rufina tells Petra to tell who Carmelo really is. Petra tells Antonieta that he is her son. Carmelo hears and struggles to speak and says no way is that woman his mother. Antonieta is still screaming, everyone is stunned, there is lots of blood! Carmelo dies!

Sebastian and Catalina make plans to be married by the church. They visit Adela and Sebastian reassures her that he will do everything possible to make her comfortable. You can hear the little voi
