Why Are Many People Selling Or Dumping Their Blackberry? by Nobody: 12:52pm On Jan 11, 2011
D; D;
the rate at which ppl are selling or dumping their BB is very alarming. Think the dust raised by BB is begining to settle. Even students that were begging for pocket money gambled into the BB. The girls were the most hit. The 'BB girl', ping ping and the king kong' palava is begining to settle. Naija too dey rush things.I have no regrets for not rushing into the BB business. Many rushed in to rush out. I would be happy to ask then 'can i ping u' or would u rather i king kong u'. So, bb users, can we hear word this year?

I would have thought there are more people jumping on the blackberry bandwagon than disembarking from it. . .at least, that's the impression I get from people around me.

However, the impression one gets from Nairaland is completely different cos hardly a day passes without someone posting a blackberry for sale here

Actually i used BB for 2 weeks. Using it is like being on one spot. ( No exploitation ).
E be like when you get china!
It is good for business and socialising, But using Android, Symbian or Iphone is like you have a computer on ur palm,
I guess it is because some of them have been using a smartphone before they switched to BB.

BB is ok but it was over hyped by some nigerians. many of them could not meet up the monthly subcription. i cannot hold a BB for one second without the sub. i frefer having a calculator than having a bb without sub. with my smartphone an laptop, i'd do much more. its even earser to sell a smart phone than BB. is just that there was so much noise about BB last yr.

yeah, there is slim difference bw a smartphone and pc. i have not been using my laptop for a while now. when ii think of booting, connecting, staying at a spot and plugging the lapy, it just like a big tast to me this days. i'd pick up my phone and does all that.

BB is crap by all standards abeg. Did i hear someone talking about affordability? dat is a dumb statement, BB is a cheap piece of crap that one can afford to buy three at a time. If you know what a smartphone does you won't even think of buying a BB. Ordinary E71 will floor any BB. And f**k that pinging thing, even Java phones these days ping, all you need to do is to install the right software. BB is too limited, and is getting more and more useless everyday especially with the almost monthly roll-out of wicked nokia smartphones.

Even your personal laptop nor reach highly pimped E71 ( Just a joke ), Alot of girls complain of Eseries/symbian because it too complicated, Hello females! You all need to be lectured on how to use a smartphone, Why are we deceived of 'pinging pong'? It is called CHAT!!!!! Here is what u have to understand. Pinging is within BB ( that means few people will be available )
But with WhatApp, you can communicate with android, Iphone and symbian users ( that means you have more people to communicate with ),

Just to clear a misconception here, whatsapp, 2go and other messenging apps work on blackberry too.

that being said, I personally got a blackberry coz i'm a heavy internet user n downloader. the unlimited downloads at a relatively cheap price is what killed it for me.

I think blackberrys will continue being popular amongst service providers because the bb compresses data unlike the Iphone and nokia web browsers and as such it is good news for the networks. i once read something like the data consumed by 1 iphone is equivalent to that of about 50 or so bb users(not too sure abt d figure but I remember its much). I dont think any service provider will give people unlimited downloads on an Iphone for d same price as a BIS, that will be invitation for suicide as doz iphones can wreck havock if care is not taken
.And as BIS prices go down (they are bound to drop) more people will join d bb wagon.

IMO, anyone who is not a heavy internet user and has a bb is a waste coz there are better alternatives available. then again, some people treasure the BBMessenger so much. the value of a product lies not in the amount you paid for it but it's sentimental value. so different strokes for different folks.

i could not sleep one night i exchanged phone with a friend. It had no subcribtion and i wanted to play with something so, i picked up the Bb and could not see anything that could keep me busy through out the night. I hated myself that night. I almost smashed the god danmed BB. I told myself, if i smash this Bb i would not be able to get my almighty e-series. That night alone was like two yrs to me. I tried to transfer, install or use my some application through my laptop and was mad i could not do anything. I was very mad. I almost wept for giving out my phone that night. Opun they heavy weight that came with the BB. It was as if i was gyming my hand and i repeatedly changed it between my two hands. cheesy

yeah, i know about that. I'm a student and not a heavy internet user. I don't spend my life on internet. I have my laptop to support my phone when need be. I have already said that BB is ok for those that need them. Don't make us look as if we don't know how BB works. I'm just saying that many students that don't need them caused more traffic in BB business.
Re: Why Are Many People Selling Or Dumping Their Blackberry? by Mafia4life(m): 11:39pm On Jan 11, 2011
@TCD
I always emphasize on BB service because of the unlimited data download,
If MTN or other allow unlimited data plan for symbian, a core user will exhaust 1GB in less than 2 hrs because of the heavy weighted app on it. Eg Symtorrent, internet radio and SB-TV.
For that of WhatApp on BB: I said before that BB run java midlet and java app are also code in .COD format, To cut the story short, apart from its service, it is the same thing as Motorola L6 ( I mean it is another type of regular java phone )
Honestly, I love the unlimited downloads,
Re: Why Are Many People Selling Or Dumping Their Blackberry? by revomind(m): 1:20pm On Jan 12, 2011
Well criticizing bb users is almost as common as the rush to own one. I don't understand why people would want to harangue others for spending their money the way they want, or for refusing to want what they want. For most bb users around me, including myself, the bb's main attraction is the unlimited downloads. I personally do not like touchscreens but I don't go around telling the world how crappy I think they are. There are lots of options out there, just buy the one that makes you feel good.

Our Army commandant gave me his BB touch to love-vendor,
After much gossip on how i pimped someone's E71, he expected the best from me,
I tried as much to add utilities to it but unfortunately i only suceeded in adding low-end java app,
Maybe i need to know other extension that expensive BB should accept,
BB users, help me clear my mess!!!!!!!

Lol. What kind of apps exactly does you Army boss need? There are converters that convert .jar files into .cod and .alx that u can then install on the bb using the desktop manager.

Although not as plentiful as those for nokias there are free apps on the net for blackberrys just use google that's where your BIS comes in, surf the web and download what you need. There are fun themes too that are free. You have been given an unlimited access to the internet, flex it and download as you please.

I see no reason raising alarms about BB, its a thing of choice. if u cant use BB, someone else cant leave without it. Technology is moving to d next level. BIS is the magic behind blackberry. No other phone can do that. if u doubt that, ping with ur nokia .

watever u can get in 15k nokia, u can get in 100k nokia. buy wat suits u and forget other ppls prob.

'' No other fone can do that ''
This is the most false statement of 2011.
Do a lil research on it. Ping AKA chat is possible in all java phone and even some china fones,
Re: Why Are Many People Selling Or Dumping Their Blackberry? by sashaa(f): 4:15pm On Jan 14, 2011
Ahem! just to add my two cents here, i use a 20k nokia and i'm looking to upgrade to a 30k-something model. Reasons being that i need:
1)more storage space
2)multitasking capabilities
3)symbian os
4)3g
5)wi fi
6)qwerty keypad
7)better cam
cooland a document editor.
So i don't know how anyone can say dat a 15k and a 100k nokia are same as per capabilities. Hmmm,
And as for pinging, shebi na that thing wey u go do to alert another bbm user?
Me sef with my nokia java, i dey recieve alert through my nimbuzz or even 2go chat!
