My fellow nairalanders please my car transponder has stopped working , it got soaked in water so please i need help. The car key opens the car doors and the ignition but wont start the car without the transponder , please i need help because i have been immobilised and cant get around plssssss anyone with information or direct help so please help me out. The car is a toyota avalon xl 2001 model pls i am practically begging for help.THANK YOU

so you only had one key ?

if that was the only key you are into trouble, the transponder sends a signal to rig around the ignition barrel then the signal is sent to the immobiliser ECU and verified which then let the car starts

roughly you need a new trasponder or new immoboliser mostly the car dealer does it
