Tale of the game
Any game between these teams is highly anticipated but this clash offers greater expectations following the £50 million transfer of Fernando Torres.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that, fitness willing, the former Liverpool striker, who will wear the number nine shirt, will face his former club.

He could line up alongside Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, another former Liverpool striker.

Chelsea could also give a first start to their other marquee deadline day signing, Benfica defender David Luiz.

He has been signed as the long-term central defensive partner for John Terry and may begin life in a blue shirt on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Chelsea continued their return to form with their third successive victory, a 4-2 win at Sunderland.

That took their goal tally to an impressive 10 in three games.

Torres has scored seven goals against Chelsea, though only one of those came at Stamford Bridge, in a Champions League tie in April 2008.

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns but Alex (knee), Yury Zhirkov (calf) and Yossi Benayoun (Achilles) remain sidelined.

On Wednesday, Liverpool beat Stoke 2-0 and Luis Suarez, who came on as a substitute, scored on his debut.

Manager Kenny Dalglish could give Suarez a start and may recall Jamie Carragher, who returned to the bench on Wednesday for the first time since dislocating his should in November.

This season: Liverpool 2 Chelsea 0.

Last season: Chelsea 2 Liverpool 0, Liverpool 0 Chelsea 2.

Stat of the game: Anelka, Drogba and Torres have a combined total of 281 Premier League goals between them.

Torres: WE TAUGHT HE WAS A LEGEND OR GOING TO BE A LEGEND LIKE DAGLISH, But TORRES turned out to be a TERRORIST!!!!!!!!!, that was one of the most stupid move in modern football, mark this page, Torres will not deliver for the blues, he was almost an expired product, he could't deliver at the world cup and he's been mis firinf for us, but we taught he was going to be a legend based on his past performances, thus we kept supporting him, mark this page

The last time someone really loved by the Kops left (Michael Owen 2004), he left because he felt Liverpool don't have CL quality in them. What happened? 2005 Liverpool stunned Milan at Istanbul to claim the trophy. YNWA!

Clubs now use money to spoil the football we cherish so much.
well all thanks to Arsene Wenger who have shown that he is really the best coach of the Decade.

As for Chelsea and Liverpool never worry about that because Liverpool can spring a surprise and steal the game even after selling Torres.

Well Liverpool has been the only club that had always brought Chelsea bad fortune. In the days of their 86 unbeaten run (just 2 seasons ago) Liverpool beat Chelsea home and away. Immediately Liverpool defeated Chelsea in the first leg it has been nightmare for Chelsea. So to repeat the same is not impossible. I just pray Chelsea fans don't stone Torres to death after the match.
