i've been having errors on my PC. They cause the system to freeze at times, it won't boot, and now, my interface i.e. the icons on my desktop, my wallpaper's all gone. I tried System Restore to a particular date i installed a program, computer keeps giving me messages that the restore was incomplete.

I then decided to command prompt 'chkdsk'. This is what came out:

Windows found errors on the disk, but will not fix them because disk checking was run without the /F <fix> parameter.

I don't know what this means. Pls, what can i do to get my PC up and running smoothly? Pls i need help on this.

Just as the "chkdsk" prompted you, use the /f switch to make the check disk utility fix any errors found.

Simply start check disk by typing in "chkdsk /f". It would attempt a fix on errors it finds on the disk.

I did, still didn't do shit. /f switch couldn't rectify problem because drive wasn't locked.

ol boy! i also need help. infact gbade my problem pass ur own. u r lucky ur system comes on so that u can run the command prompt. in my own case, b4 the sys finishes boootin it just stops and brings the error sign that my sys has a disk error so i can not really even styart my sys!

The problem has been rectified. Scanned the bloody HD with avast, used command prompt in safe mode and shit. errthing's aight now.

before your PC boots to the part where it states that "disk error" bullshit, press F8 for set up. Select "run OS in safe-mode". Then from there, rectify whatever's wrong with ya PC. . .
