you can use your BIS/BES SIM oriented in any other BB; if this works, you may need to upgrade your BB

The solution to this is very simple; you may not get it right if I explain it.

From Manage connections to Mobile Network Options
Then put Data Services off and power off immediately.
power it on again and check your balance .

Remember to put your data services on AGAIN

I have a BB 8120 and the phone keeps rebooting every now and then I did a firmware upgrade and the rebooting problem was solved I'm just pointing this out incase someone else is facing such problem a firmware upgrade is the solution

@poster,thanks 4 an avenue lik dis. I use bb 8900 that is an edge phone. Edge is not strong in ma area,get d service at obscured areas in ma room like window stand,table etc. Is there a way I can set d fone on strong edge reception? I'm on mtn.

Hi. There is really nothing you can do but hope for a better network service from mtn or jump ship to another network [s]Etisalat[/] . If MTN is not broadcasting strong signals to ur room, how can you tweak your phone to get what isn't there in the first place?

I just got a uk used storm1 and the phone is perfect except for the battery. The phone didnt come with a charger so I bought one for 700naira but each time i charge the battery it never lasts. Like today, i charged for over two hours -it indicated it was charging- and all i could use the phone for was less than 30mins. My question is this, is the problem with the charger or the battery?

The best way forward to troubleshoot this, is to borrow both items (charger and battery) from a someone that has it, to test. Then you will know which is faulty, i would put my bet on the battery, that it has lost it's potency. Lithium batteries are not meant to last forever !!!

3G is a feature Bold 3 comes with. With regards getting a 3G in Nigeria, that question should be directed to your Network provider.

The internet settings on the Blackberry device, is probably the easiest to set up. What and how are you doing it ?

What Sam was trying to tell you, is that put your blackberry enabled sim card in a confirmed working blackberry device, and see if it works.
Or better still, with your sim card in your blackberry phone follow this procedure - :
- Click the Blackberry menu button
- Scroll through to options
- Scroll down to host routing table (you should see a sequence of numbers), if not
- Click register now

Take out your sim card for a minute or two.
Now enjoy your pinging journey.

Thanks unclesam, i did borrowed an original charger and the battery actually lasted for a while, Could you recommend somewhere i could get an original charger in lagos?
