As Africans we should take care of our parents when they're old and can't help themselves. This is a great idea for those abandoned by their kids. But wait a minute, can this be sustained by future govts? |

Tippy Top: Why not? Better than handing out social security checks to thousands or million of old folks. This is very economical. |

I think its a good idea ,but ultimately a white elephant project. Reasons : 1. We do not have any social security system to support such ideas 2. African tradition leaves the care of parents to the children/family. 3. Where is the money coming from ? Donations or tax payers funds |
Re: Mrs Fashola @ Home For The Elderly. Pics: by EkoIle1: 7:50pm On Feb 19, 2011 |
illusion2: 1. Doesn't mean the state should not step in and take care of our old folks. 2. Basically backward and archaic thinking. Things have changed and regardless, people do fall through the cracks and when they do, where do you want them to go? Under the bridge? 3. Obviously, tax payer's money. |

"Old People's Home"? It must have been such a hard name to think of. So creative. Imagine walking into a "Mentally Disabled Home", how would you feel even if you knew you were mentally disabled? |

jumobi1: Feel free to repeat that rubbish till erternity. It's just mindless talk. For now, these old folks have a place to stay and get good care as they sunset the rest nof their lives. |

Eko Ile: WHy are you so vulgar? Its sad, In Lagos, people can afford basic needs yet we are building old people's home?, Elderly homes are for developed countries. We should be looking for ways to create wealth not spend wealth. |

We are in line with whiteman's evolutionary traits, from undertakers,to homosexuality,to divource, now to care homes, losing touch with assumed reality and moving on to the nest level of human evolution.Taking us away and away from our natural instincts and becoming more of machines, programmed to act. It is inevitable or is it not?Do u have an answer? |

jumobi1:do you know the meaning of vulgar? Stop misusing words. I have to pass on the rest of the shallow and misguided rubbish. I think some you talk just for the heck of it, not to make sense. |
