I know someone started a thread on rats which i've done successfully in d past with indocid and good old hunting with sticks and PESTle. Now, i'm having an ongoing battle wit cockroaches. It doesn't matter how clean the home (since this problem has turned me to a neat freak), they still stick around, laying eggs and multiplying. I kinda prefer rats since they re easy on the eyes and big to hunt, but roaches are so damn ugly esp the big ones and can climb ur body when u're sleeping, Yuck!! Pls, anyone, HELP!

I hate cockroaches and they scare the hell out of me. I can't answer your question cause I really don't know. Just moved into a new place and roaches gave me hell at first. I was using a can of Bagon for two days at first and they all disappeared and I had peace. But then the sewage was emptied, and the building repainted, and they came in multitudes. Right now, they are gone and I hope it's forever. No matter how neat your home is isn't the answer. But I believe fumigation will work best for a lasting effect.

If there's one thing i want done, it is fumigation. But i don't know whether it's done here in Nigeria. I know there's one for killing mosquitoes outside d house but i am yet to hear of one for cockroaches inside d house, and since i ve kids and no second home, i have concerns on whether it is poisonous and if it is for how long. I've used all types of insecticides but d problem still persists. My kids not yet 2 ve all learnt the word cockroach and also to kill on cue wit their lil hands and feet. That's how bad we have it here

I recommend yot get G.O.90,get about 8 bottles(they look like syrup bottles).Choose a night out (go clubbing or vigil) and empty the bottles in ALL corners of your home. Block and cover ALL entry points (roofs,window slits,door slits,and imperfect plumbing) shut all doors and windows and be on your jolly way. Return in the morning and be the proud executor of a holocaust. Serves 'em right.

otapiapia is #30. Yes, it kills cockroaches, no it doesn't kill rats. And even for the cockroaches, it is only a temporary solution because it doesn't get rid of the eggs which will sooner develop into full grown cockroaches.

Fumigation works fine. But you'll do a lot of work too. You'll have to clean out the house properly, especially areas where the cockroaches have laid their eggs, corners, holes etc. I've done fumigation and derrating (rat fumigation) and I can say I have some peace with cockroaches but the rats are back in full force (because my neighbours didn't fumigate and the rats hid in their homes).

Fumigation is the key. G.0. 90 is excellent but if u cant stand disgusting sights, i advise u leave it alone e.g having to clear the "corpses" of 62,000 dead roaches after the "holocaust". Always keep a RAID spray handy at all times (baygon and mobil only work on ants and mosquitoes).

Cockroaches are revolting, worse than rats, especially the large ones, that crunch when you tread on them, like they're semi armour-plated. Urrrrrgh!

If you have total filling station near you, go buy their spray it is very very effective for all sorts of flying,crawling,sleeping insect.

Use SNIPPER and fumigate your entire house and compound at least 3 times in a month and it will Snipe-out even their great grand children!

U will get snipper at any agro-chemical shops (shops were they sale agricultural chemicals).

U will be VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULT!

Get a bottle of SNIPPER, look for a very big parker and broom to sweep heaps of roaches the following morning, it works like magic. It's sold for #200.

I think you should go for Snipper. I used it once when I had a terrible cockroach infestation. God, it was horrible.

A friend with a science background told me it works like nerve gas does on humans; something about paralysing their nervous system.

I used it by mixing in water and waited until 1am when they come out in numbers. I closed the windows, mixed the stuff in water and just poured it on the ground, cupboards and other places where they hide and breed.

In the morning, come and see something; piles and piles of dead roaches. Two years after, they are yet to establish a population. It took one year before i saw the first roach, probably a stray one. I am not sure I have seen more than four since I used that stuff.

the best way to fight roaches are from their source.
make sure your cesspit has no loopholes where they can surface
your toilet is another source. make sure you have camphor there all the time and you spray it before everyone steps out of the house for work, school and service

Gbam, cosigning 100%, and to think  I used to not mind them until I realised they could fly Now I passionately detest these things, lizards are another pet hate of mine, eurghhhhh, bleughhhhhh, yuck, disgusting, brrrrr, but why are disgusting topics like this creeping up in this section na
