@ Ifax. filling out a new DS 160 form automatically erases any history of previous forms filled. Fill a new DS 160 form t thehen go to your profile on US Docs website. The DS 160 code/number is editable. Edit it and print out a new slip to take at the Embassy.
It's that easy, no need to be stressed out. You can even do it as late as a day before your interview.

egariyi: Hello my good people. It's been a couple of days I posted here as I have been busy packing for my trip.

I am happy to inform the house that I finally landed in HOUSTON On 26 Aug and my POE exp was effortless. Flew United Airline. Can u imagine that I was not asked a single questions and I was stamped in for six months. Our flight arrived late by 1 hrs 15 mins and they appeared to be in a hurry to clear the batch of people. Therefore went for screening of foods and off I go.

Will stay a few days in Houston n will be heading to El Paso on 1st Sept.

@Miri7n5b, pls inbox me ya number. Need to speak with you ASAP.

Thanks to all contributors of this great forum.

Note: if u declared your intentions at d embassy and have some reasonable cash to cover your bills, there is no need to be afraid of using Houston as POE.

CONGRATS. Just seeing thiz now though.

Hi guys, I just decided to check out the US embassy in Nigeria's website dedicated to notary appointment and was surprised to see that there are just 19 appointments left for d month of September (as at now o). You can check this out on https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/make_calendar.asp?nMonth=9&nYear=2014&type=2&servicetype=02B&pc=LGS

The earlier you apply (as long as you're almost certain of when d baby's coming) the better for you.

Cheers.

Dear NL Moms,

Congratulations on all safe deliveries and advance congrats to all expectant moms.

God bless you all for the useful resource you post on this thread...so so helpful
We are considering using OAKBEND medical center and Dr. Fagbohun, would appreciate first hand info from moms who have used them recently. Also:
1) recommendation on closest, safe & affordable accommodation (for 2 adults & 1 toddler- 10weeks stay)
2) Experience/ advise on feeding & transportation
3) any useful recommendation to guide our travel plans scheduled for Mid October- late December.

Merci beaucoup!

Hello, first I just want to say that this is a wonderful thread, lots of useful info. Its a pity I found out about this thread AFTER I had my baby in the US earlier this year. lol
Anyways, I just want to provide helpful info for the person who asked about another doctor in West Houston Medical Centre. I had my Son there in Feb this year, my doctor was Dr Jeanie Huynh. Fantastic doctor! A friend's sis-in-law had used her before so I went to her and I must say, i'm glad I did. She also did my son's circumcision and it was fantastic. I had emailed the doc's office and also faxed my medical report in advance. They didnt accept payment in advance anyway, had to pay everyth when I got there. So here's what I spent a few months ago:

Dr Huynh's Fee - $2,000
Additional OBtests @ Doc's office - $270 (please do as many of the tests as you can do in Naija)
Circumcision - $255
Hospital Fee - $4,000 (I ended up having a C-Section coz I developed PIH when I arrived in the US)
Epidural - $1,200
Paediatrician - $93 (Dr Huynh's office suggested a paediatrician to me that also gives discount to Dr Huynh's patients so this was quite cheap. Otherwise I would have spent $800 if I had used WHMC's Paed).

. I understand that having a baby in the US can be daunting, esp if you havent done it before so it pays to have people assitst with first-hand info, questions, clarifications etc. Am available to help sha.
I wish everyone a success in this quest and all the blessings of parenthood!!! May our investments in our children's future by having them in the US be fruitful in Jesus Name!

Please I'm very much interested. Kindly share contact info. The doctor I got in WHMC is charging over 4 for her fees alone. Thank you smiley

@Oballer: ask Dr. Fagbohun about accommodation. I had initially planned to use him bfore we changed to elpaso but in a mail he sent to us when we informed him he asked that if we need accommodation he can help us out. So send a mail to him about accommodation. I trust he would revert to u, then you can do competitive review with others

What are Dr Fagbohun's fees like?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Oballer: 9:15pm On Aug 27, 2014
@lizcom25.. well, we already did that and his response was "kindly go on our website and find our locations then search based on our zip code".... not a direct answer if he wanted to help out i think...

@raii... his fees are $300- Initial visit and ultrasound and $2400 for normal v.delivery. 20% discount is given on the 2400 only if full payment is made by 2nd visit he says...

[quote author=musspuss]Hello all,

Please, I need advice on my upcoming visa interview. It's kinda complicated. I completed my form a couple of months ago when I hadn't stumbled upon this forum or made any real plans and enquiries about birthing in the US. I completed the application form along with my hubby and daughter in April and stated that we intended travelling together the same day and staying with hubby's brother who lives in Houston but that I'll be spending 8 weeks while hubby and daughter would be spending 4 weeks.

The question is; Have you signed and submitted the form electronically? If not, you can still edit it without any problem as long as it is still within 30 days. But if you have submitted it, please go through these steps as that was what I used too when I discovered I made a mistake after submission. "The State Department requires electronic submission of a Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, prior to an individual’s interview appointment in connection with a nonimmigrant visa application at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate overseas. While information in the Form DS-160 cannot be changed or amended after the form is electronically submitted, applicants needing to make a correction may retrieve the information contained in the submitted forms in one of two ways. First, if the application was submitted less than 30 days prior to the date of access, the applicant may log into the Consular Electronic Application Center system, enter the application identification number, and select “Retrieve an Application.” When prompted by the system, the applicant should opt to create a new application, which will cause the entire prior application to appear (with the exception of information relating to travel plans to the U.S.) The applicant may then edit the information as required, and re-submit the application. Alternatively, if the applicant saved the DAT file from the original application, the applicant can access and amend the information contained in a submitted application at any time and electronically submit a new Form DS-160 after making any required changes. Applicants must bring confirmation pages from both the original and revised Form DS-160 with them when they appear at the Embassy or Consulate if the original Form DS-160 was used to book the visa appointment or pay related fees, as each submission contains a unique barcode." meanwhile, it will generate another bar code for you. Print the new confirmation page and take the two with you for your interview. Though the first one will still be returned to you as it won't be relevant again.
Try and follow those steps and let's see what happens next.

Hi, my first post here, loving the group so far. I used Dr Fagbohun and Oakbend medical center in Richmond early last year. The service was exceptional from start to finish especially at the hospital. Thing is Richmond is about an hour's drive from where I stayed in Houston but I had family to drive me around.
Dr's fees ~$2800 CS
Hospital ~$3100 CS 3 days
Lab work~max $200
Anesthesia~$1000*
Circumcision~$300 *
Not so sure about the items with * they were either cheaper or a little bit higher.
Cheers!

Thank you Snowles.

I am looking for somewhere not too far from the 610 loop. I had options of choosing from Sugarland and then Oakbend like you recommended. But it may not be convenient for me. Though I am staying with a family, not sure how mobile I will be, WHMC is a better location for me.

Thank you for your comments though, I am sure someone else will gain from it.

oyinkay123: So I was at the embassy today and was told "addition administrative processing required" and that they'd send me an email when my issue is resolved. What does that even mean?

sad

Hi! we have the same problem. It was my husband case. But we were applying together and we stacked right now both of us with decision. They gave paper to my husband to send some background docs, he is IT specialist. We send everything on email on the next day. Right now is almost 4 weeks how we are waiting. In the next week we'll write mail to know about our visa status, because on the paper they tell it takes 4 weeks. More over, we suppose to fly in 11 of September. It's so weird to don't know about your visa when you have travel less in two weeks (((( I'm 34 weeks.
